Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before you use this device. Do not make any changes or create settings that are not described in this manual. If physical injury, loss of data, or damage is caused by failure to follow instructions, the warranty does not apply.

Setup

To reduce the risk of fire and/or electric shock, do not expose the device to rain or moisture. Objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should not be placed on this device. Do not place this device on soft surfaces such as tablecloths or carpets, otherwise the device could be a fire hazard. Do not place this device in areas susceptible to excessive dust and dirt or near any appliance generating a strong magnetic field. To prevent overheating, do not block or clog the ventilation openings. Never place this device in a confined space. Always leave enough space around this device for ventilation. Protect this device from overexposure to direct sunlight, heat, large temperature fluctuations, and moisture. Avoid extreme temperatures. The suitable operating and storage temperature for this device and its accessories is 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F). When this device is running for a long period of time, the surface may become hot. Shut it down immediately and unplug the charger. Resume operation after this device has cooled down. Always handle this device with care. Avoid touching the lens. Do not allow children to handle the device without supervision. Never place heavy or sharp objects on this device. To avoid electric shock, do not disassemble. Use attachments or accessories specified by the manufacturer only. Avoid extreme vibrations as they may damage the internal components.

Hearing Safety

To avoid hearing damage, do not listen for extended periods at high volume. Set the volume to a safe level.

Cleaning

Use a soft, lint-free cloth. Never use liquid, gaseous, or easily flammable cleansers (sprays, abrasives, polishes, alcohol) to clean. Do not use any liquid cleaning agents to clean the lens to avoid damaging the coating film on the lens. Use lens cleaning paper to clean the lens.

Caution

Possibly hazardous optical radiation emitted from this device. Do not stare at the operating beam. The bright light may damage your eyes. Children should use the projector under the supervision of adults. The projector is non-dustproof and non-waterproof. Please cut off the power if the projector is out of use for a long time. Non-professionals are forbidden to disassemble the projector for testing and maintenance.

What's in the Box

Overview

1. Front View

The front of the projector features a prominent circular lens area with concentric rings, surrounded by the main body of the projector, which is supported by a stand. Visible labels indicate: [infrared receiver], [Lens], [Air inlet].

2. Rear View

The rear of the projector houses various ports and ventilation. Labeled components include: [HDMI 1.4 input], [ON/OFF button], [Aux 3.5mm output], [USB 2.0 input], [IR (Infrared receiver)], [Power supply input], and [Air outlet].

3. Remote Control

The remote control features a directional pad with UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT buttons surrounding a central OK button. Other controls include: [Power button], [Source button], [Focus+] button, [Focus-] button, [Home button], [Volume-] button, [Volume+] button, [Menu button], [Mute button], and [Back button].

Getting Started

1. Placement

Place this device on a stable, flat surface, and squarely point it to face the projection surface. For best results, the projection surface should be white and flat. The distance between this device and the projection surface must be a minimum of 3.3ft (1 meter) and a maximum of 13ft (4 meters) to get a projection image from 40 to 150 inches.

2. Get Started

  1. Using the provided cable and charger to connect the projector.
  2. Press the power button on the remote control to turn it on.
  3. Angle the device towards a suitable projection surface or wall.
  4. To focus the image, slightly move the projector to engage auto keystone and manually adjust the focus.

Note: For first time use, slide to open the remote control battery compartment, and install two AAA batteries. (The remote control does not come with AAA batteries.)

Settings

Go through the setup process when you turn on the Soomfon Mini Projector SK1 for the first time.

1. OSD Language

Navigate to: System setting > OSD Language > To choose your language.

A visual guide shows the 'Language & Region' screen, presenting a list of selectable languages including English, English (UK), English (Australia), Japan, and Canada, with options to select or confirm.

Using Soomfon SK1

Play from HDMI Playback Devices

The SK1 can be connected to various HDMI playback devices such as a TV box, TV stick, DVD player, set-top box (STB), gaming consoles, or other devices. Choose one of the following three options to play from devices that have an HDMI output port:

  1. Connect SK1 to an HDMI playback device with an HDMI cable. It will automatically start HDMI playback once connected to an HDMI playback device.
  2. On the home menu, go to [HDMI] and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection process.

A visual shows the Soomfon home screen interface with options like 'Homepage', 'Setting', 'HDMI', 'Photo', 'Music', 'Video', 'TXT', and 'Service'.

Play from a USB Drive

With SK1, you can enjoy music, video, and pictures that are stored on a USB drive.

To play from a USB drive:

  1. On the home menu, select the USB icon and press OK.
  2. Select a file and then press OK.

Note: The USB drive should be in FAT32 format, 32G or less.

Play Through External Sound Devices

This projector can also be connected to external sound output devices, including headphones and speakers. When connected to external speakers, the built-in speaker system is disabled.

To play sound through external sound devices:

  1. Use a 3.5mm audio cable or an adapter (not provided) to connect your headphones or external speakers.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the AUDIO OUT port on this projector.

You will hear audio from external devices.

Note: Before connecting headphones and putting them on, turn down the volume to avoid hurting your ears.
