Step 1: Initialization
Device State: Screen displays 'Start'.

Step 2: Ready for Test

Step 3: Subject Interaction
Device State: N/A (focus on user action).
Action: Hold the instrument 50mm in front of the subject's mouth so that the subject is breathing or talking directly into the device's [Inlet]. Instruct the subject to count from 20 onwards until you tell them to stop. Whilst they are counting, press the [Test Key]. You will hear 3 clicks. Tell the subject to stop counting after the 3rd click.
Step 4: Result Interpretation
Device State: Screen displays text result (e.g., 'Pass No Alcohol' or 'Warning Alcohol Present').
Action: The device will analyse, emit a long beep, and then display a text-based result. A screen with text 'Pass No Alcohol' indicates that alcohol is not present. A screen with text 'Warning Alcohol Present' indicates that alcohol is detected. In the latter instance, change the test type to mouthpiece testing to gauge the subject's BrAC level.
Active Testing
It is recommended the subject not consume food, drink or smoke 15 minutes prior to taking a test. ⚠
Step 1: Initialization
Device State: Screen displays 'Start'.

Step 3: Subject Blows

Step 4: Result Interpretation
Device State: Screen displays numerical BrAC result (e.g., '0.000g/210L').

A screen with the numerical BrAC value of more than '0.000g/210L' indicates that alcohol is present. Follow relevant instructions as designated by local municipality and/or employment terms.
