Alcolizer HH4 Alcohol Tester
Quick User Guides
Passive Testing
Step 1: Preparation
It is recommended the subject not consume food, drink or smoke 15 minutes prior to taking a test. Press the 'Test' key to turn the HH4 Alcohol Tester on. Ensure the test type is set to "Passive Std" (no mouthpiece). A "press passive test" message will display.
Step 2: Ready
Press the 'Test' key. The screen will display "Please Wait" then "Ready for passive Test".
Step 3: Sampling
Hold the instrument 50mm - 100mm in front of the subject's mouth so that the subject is breathing or talking directly into the device's inlet. If using pressure activated passive, instruct the donor to blow into the device until you tell them to stop. The device will take a sample automatically. If using button activated passive, instruct the subject to count from 20 onwards in a one second rhythm until you tell them to stop. While they are counting, press the 'Test' key. You will hear 3 clicks. Tell the subject to stop blowing or counting after the 3rd click.
Step 4: Result
The device will analyse, emit a long beep, and then display a text based result. A green screen with "Pass No Alcohol" text indicates alcohol is not detected. A red screen with "Warning Alcohol Detected" text indicates alcohol is detected. In the latter case, the device automatically switches to a mouthpiece "Standard" test displaying "press for active test".
Mouthpiece Testing
Step 1: Preparation
The subject is not to consume food, drink or smoke 15 minutes prior to taking a test. Press the 'Test' key to turn the HH4 Alcohol Tester on. Ensure the test type is set to "Standard" (with mouthpiece). A "press to test" message will display.
Step 2: Ready
Attach an Alcolizer approved mouthpiece. Press the 'Test' key. The screen will display "Please Wait" then "Blow".
Step 3: Sampling
Hold the breathalyser in front of the subject's mouth so that the subject can blow into the mouthpiece. Instruct the subject to take a deep breath and blow gently into the mouthpiece until you tell them to stop. You will hear a sequence of beeps, a click then a long beep to indicate the test is complete. Tell the subject to stop blowing.
Step 4: Result
The device will analyse and then display a colour coded numerical BrAC result. A green screen with "0.000g/210L" BrAC indicates that alcohol is not detected. A yellow screen with numerical BrAC indicates that alcohol is present but under the pre-configured threshold BrAC level. A red screen with numerical BrAC indicates that alcohol is detected and is over locally accepted BrAC levels.
