Maintenance / Proper Handling
Handling Vinyl Records
- Handle records by the edges or label with clean hands. Do not touch the grooves, as this degrades quality.
- Clean records with a soft, anti-static cloth.
- Store records in their protective sleeves when not in use.
- Always store records upright on their edges.
- Avoid placing records in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in areas with vibration, excessive dust, heat, cold, or moisture.
General Care
- When unplugging, pull the plug directly, never the cord.
- Keep the laser pickup clean; do not touch it, and ensure the disc tray is closed.
- Do not use chemical solvents for cleaning, as they may damage the finish. Use a clean, dry cloth only.
- To completely shut off power, unplug the unit from the wall outlet, especially for extended periods of non-use.
How to Replace the Turntable Stylus (Replacement Needle # ITNP-LC1)
The stylus typically lasts about 50 hours of normal use. Replace it when sound quality declines, as a worn stylus can damage records. 78 RPM records wear the stylus more quickly.
Removing the Old Stylus:
- Place a screwdriver at the tip of the stylus and push downward (A).
- Pull the stylus downward and forward simultaneously to remove it.
Installing a New Stylus:
- Hold the front tip of the new stylus and insert its rear edge (B) first.
- Push the stylus upwards (C) until it locks into place.
Caution:
- Do not bend the stylus.
- Avoid touching the needle to prevent injury.
- Turn off the unit's power before replacing the stylus.
- Keep out of reach of children.
