Product Overview

The Thermacell MR150 Mosquito Repeller is a handheld device designed for effective outdoor mosquito protection. It creates a zone free of mosquitoes and other biting insects by heating a repellent mat.

How to Use the Mosquito Repellent

Step 1: Prepare the Mat
Remove one Thermacell Mosquito Repellent mat from its wrapper.

Step 2: Insert the Mat
Ensure the 'ON/OFF' switch on the appliance is in the 'OFF' position. Insert the mat under the appliance's black grill. To change mats, turn the 'ON/OFF' switch to 'OFF', allow the appliance to cool completely, then push the used mat out by inserting a fresh one.

Step 3: Prepare the Cartridge
Remove the appliance cap. Remove the cap from the butane cartridge.

Step 4: Insert the Cartridge
Screw the butane cartridge into the opening of the appliance. Turn it clockwise until it stops, ensuring it is fully inserted. Replace the appliance cover. If the appliance fails to heat, check the fuel level by holding it vertically and looking through the slot on the back. Replace the cartridge if empty or near empty.

Step 5: Turn On Gas Flow
Turn the 'ON/OFF' switch to the 'ON' position. The butane gas will begin to flow.

Step 6: Ignite the Repeller
Wait approximately 5 to 10 seconds, then depress the start button three to five times in rapid succession. A visible orange glow through the view window indicates the device is working.

Storage: When finished using the appliance, turn the 'ON/OFF' switch to the 'OFF' position and allow the appliance to cool completely before storing.

Useful Tips for Optimal Performance

Allow 10 to 30 minutes for the product to take effect, depending on the area size.
Works best in outdoor areas with minimal air movement, such as yards and campsites.
Provides a maximum of 4 hours of mosquito repellency per mat.
Original, Earth Scent, and Max Life Thermacell refill mats are compatible.
Mats change from pale blue to white when used up and need replacement.
Some visible vapor during use is normal.
Use additional repellers for larger areas.
Altitudes above 7000 ft may affect product performance.

Use Restrictions

For outdoor use only as a mosquito repellent.
Do not use indoors, in tents, or in any enclosed area.
Only use Thermacell mats in the repeller.
Cover or remove all exposed food.
Do not leave the repeller unattended or use in windy conditions.
Do not expose the repeller or mats to rain.
Place the repeller on a flat, stable surface with the grill facing upward.
Do not touch the grill, as it will be hot after a few minutes.
Clean with a damp cloth only when the repeller is cool and inactive.
Only Thermacell mats and cartridges will work in this repeller.

Troubleshooting

If you do not see an orange glow through the view window:

Repeat the "To Turn ON" directions.
If no orange light is visible, ensure the fuel cartridge is completely screwed into place. Repeat "Turn On" directions and confirm the orange glow is visible.
Check the fuel level. If the cartridge is empty or near empty, remove it and replace with a new cartridge. Repeat "Turn On" directions and confirm the orange glow is visible.

Not sure product is working?

Place the product upwind for maximum mosquito repellency. Windy conditions can reduce effectiveness.
Check the mosquito repellent mat. Mats turn from pale blue to white when used up. Refer to directions for replacing the mat.
Check the fuel cartridge. If empty or near empty, replace it with a new Thermacell cartridge. Repeat "Turn On" directions and confirm the orange glow is visible.
