Using Your Machine

CAUTION: Always unplug the carpet washer before performing any maintenance/troubleshooting checks.

IMPORTANT: Your dirty water tank is fitted with a float. When the dirty water tank is full, or the nozzle is not in contact with the carpet, the float will shut off the suction. You will hear the motor noise increase if this happens. Once the float is activated, empty the dirty water tank if full. If the dirty water tank is not full, turn off your machine at the power switch and wait for the float to settle.

Filling the Water/Solution Tank

  1. Press the clean water tank release button.
  2. Pull to remove the clean water tank.
  3. Twist the clean water tank cap anti-clockwise to remove.
  4. Fill the clean water tank to the 'max' fill mark with warm water (max 40°C).
  5. Line up the tabs on the water tank cap with the clean water tank and twist clockwise to re-fit.
  6. Twist the solution cap anti-clockwise to remove.
  7. Pour the required carpet/hard floor solution into the tank.

For superior drying performance, use the Max Extract pedal with 'Max Extract' selected on the mode selector switch. The SpinScrub brushes will not spin when the Max Extract pedal is pressed; the entire power of the carpet washer is used to extract water/solution from your carpets.

  1. Select 'Max Extract' on the mode selector switch.
  2. Press the Max Extract pedal to activate the Max Extract mode. The brushes will not spin but may turn slowly as the carpet washer is moved forwards/backwards.

Washing Hard Floors (Some Models Only)

CAUTION: To prevent damage to wood floors and other hard floors, follow the flooring manufacturer's cleaning recommendations. Inspect floor surface for worn finish, bare wood, or separated joints. It is not recommended to use the carpet washer on floors if any of these conditions exist.

IMPORTANT: Before attaching the hard floor squeegee onto the carpet washer, remove tanks or ensure tanks are empty before lying the carpet washer on its back.

  1. Lie the carpet washer on its back. Line up the hard floor squeegee with the nozzle.
  2. Hook the front of the squeegee onto the edge of the nozzle.
  3. Push the squeegee under the nozzle until it clicks into place.
  4. Stand the carpet washer upright. Fill the clean water tank with water and the solution tank with hard floor solution. Refer to 'Filling the Water/Solution Tank'.
  5. Plug into mains and press the on/off button to switch on.
  6. Press the recline pedal and pull the handle backwards.
  7. Select 'Wash' on the mode selector switch.
  8. Squeeze the trigger to release solution and water mix.
  9. On the forward stroke, squeeze the trigger. On the backward stroke, release the trigger to extract solution/water.

Rinsing is not necessary, but will help remove solution and residue, leaving your hard floors looking fresher. Refer to 'Rinsing Your Carpets/Hard Floor'.
