Conventional Digital Multimeters vs. DT4223/DT4224

Conventional multimeters can cause hazards like tripped circuit breakers and arcing when voltage is mistakenly applied to the resistance range due to their measurement circuit design. The DT4223 and DT4224, however, switch measurement circuits only after detecting the appropriate signal. If voltage is mistakenly input, their high input impedance limits current to 1.5 mA or less, preventing hazards.
