Notes:
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at normal input (24V), rated load, and 25°C of ambient temperature.
- 2. The unit tests the battery every 30 seconds. If the test result is faulty, the unit activates the "Battery Fail" relay contact and the "Red LED" indicator.
- 3. Derating may be needed at higher ambient temperatures. Refer to the "Derating Curve" for details.
- 4. Ambient temperature derating is 3.5°C/1000m for fanless models and 5°C/1000m for fan models for operating altitudes higher than 2000m (6500ft).
- 5. The unit is considered a component to be installed into final equipment. All EMC tests were performed by mounting the unit on a 360*720mm metal plate with 1mm thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed to meet EMC directives. For guidance on performing these EMC tests, refer to "EMI testing of component power supplies" available at https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf.

Diagrams and Curves
Block Diagram
Illustrates the functional flow: the Power Supply connects to the DUPS20 module. The DUPS20 manages battery charging and provides DC BUS OK (Green LED), Battery Fail (Red LED), and Battery Discharge (Yellow LED) status indicators. The output of the DUPS20 connects to the Load. The system also includes detection circuits for various functions like battery test.
Derating Curve
A graph showing Load (%) on the vertical axis against ambient temperature (°C) on the horizontal axis. It indicates that the module can operate at 100% load up to a certain temperature, after which derating (reduction in load capacity) is required as the temperature increases.
Buffering Time Table
A table detailing the reference buffering time (in seconds) for different discharge currents (2.5A, 5A, 10A, 20A) and various lead-acid battery capacities (7.5AH, 12AH, 15AH).
Buffering Time Graph
A line graph plotting Buffering Time (s) on the vertical axis against Discharge Current (A) on the horizontal axis. Separate lines represent the buffering performance for 7.5AH, 12AH, and 15AH batteries.
Mechanical Specifications
The DUPS20 module has dimensions of 40mm (width) x 125.2mm (height) x 113.5mm (depth). It is designed for mounting on standard TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 DIN rails. Terminal block assignments are provided for DC input/battery input (TB1) and LED status indicators (TB2).
Suggested Applications
The DUPS20 can be used in two primary configurations:
- Backup for AC Interruption: A single 24V/20A Power Supply (PSU) is connected to the DUPS20, which in turn powers the Load and is connected to a 24V Battery. This setup ensures continuous power to the load during AC power outages.
- Redundancy with PSU Failure Backup: A redundancy module (DRDN20) is used to combine two PSUs (PSU 1, PSU 2) and connect them to the DUPS20. The DUPS20 then powers the Load and is connected to the 24V Battery. This configuration provides protection against both AC interruptions and individual PSU failures.
