Product Instruction

The THIRDREALITY ZigBee Smart Blind Lite is a smart honeycomb curtain designed for simple installation and convenient control, functioning both online and offline. It features a thoughtful bottom design that automatically detects the window sill to stop the blind. The drive units are located at the bottom, making battery replacement more accessible. Enhanced control options, including voice control, app control, routines, schedules, timers, and group settings, are available when connected to compatible ZigBee-enabled gateways such as Amazon Echo devices, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Eero 6/6 Pro, Third Reality Hub, and Hubitat.

Product Features

  1. 1 Directly work with compatible Echo devices: The Smart Blind Lite is a standard ZigBee device that can directly integrate with compatible Echo devices featuring a built-in ZigBee hub, including Echo 4th Gen, Echo Plus (1st & 2nd Gen), Echo Show 10 (2nd & 3rd Gen), and Echo Studio.
  2. 2 Work with multiple platforms: It can also connect with SmartThings, Home Assistant, Eero 6 & Eero 6 Pro, Third Reality Hub, and Hubitat Elevation.
  3. 3 Unique and novel design: The bottom drive design simplifies daily operation and battery replacement. A bottom sensor makes it easy to adjust the blind's height within 72 inches at any time.
  4. 4 No worry about power support: With over 6 months of battery life using standard AA batteries, power is not a concern. This is ideal for windows that are too high to reach for charging or lack nearby outlets.
  5. 5 Functions provided by Alexa App: The Smart Blind Lite works with Alexa, offering functions like scheduling, grouping, and routines. Users can set the blind to open or close based on sunset or sunrise times, among other automations.

LED Status & Buttons

The Smart Blind Lite has an LED indicator and control buttons on its bottom rail.

Bottom Sensor

When the Smart Blind Lite is extending, the Bottom Sensor will detect any surface it encounters (e.g., the window sill or a finger) and stop the blind at that position. This sensor is also used to set the desired bottom position for the blind. (Refer to Page 9 for setting the bottom position).

Battery Cover

The battery compartment is located at the bottom of the blind. Ensure correct polarity when installing AA batteries. Batteries are sold separately.

For masonry surfaces, an electric drill with an M5 drill bit is recommended. Ensure the THIRDREALITY logo on the Smart Blind Lite and the button on the L brackets face inwards during installation.

Mounting Options

  1. 1 Choose Mount Type: Select either an inside or outside mount.
    • Inside Mount: Ensure your window recess has a minimum depth of 2 inches.
    • Outside Mount: To allow the blind to fully expose the window when closed, ensure there is at least 4.3 inches of flat space above the window.

Troubleshooting

  1. 1 Factory Reset: Press and hold the setting button (marked with a square symbol ⏹️) for more than 5 seconds until the LED light flashes rapidly red. This indicates pairing mode. A factory reset will revert the preset bottom position to the default 72 inches, requiring you to set your desired bottom position again.
  2. 2 Fail to pair with Echo:
    • Ensure your Echo Speaker is compatible with the Smart Blind Lite (Echo 4th Gen, Echo Plus 1st/2nd Gen, Echo Show 10 2nd/3rd Gen, Echo Studio) and is updated to the latest version.
    • Verify that your Echo devices are properly set up before attempting to add the Smart Blind Lite.
    • Reboot the Echo Speaker by unplugging its power adapter, waiting a few seconds, and plugging it back in. Then, try pairing the Smart Blind Lite again.
    • Factory reset the Echo Speaker: Press and hold the Action button for 25 seconds. The light ring will pulse orange, then turn off. Wait for it to turn blue, then orange again, indicating setup mode. Try pairing the Smart Blind Lite again.
  3. 3 Smart Blind Lite is not responding after pairing with Echo device:
    • Check the LED indicator status. Blinking once every 3 seconds means it's offline. Reboot the Echo Speaker and factory reset the Smart Blind Lite, then re-pair them.
    • If the issue persists, try deregistering the Echo Speaker from your account and then re-registering it before attempting to pair the Smart Blind Lite again.
  4. 4 How to change the bottom position of the Smart Blind Lite:

Press the UP button to retract the blind to its highest position (zero percent). Press the DOWN button to extend the blind. Stop the bottom rail at your desired position by pressing the setting/stop button. To set this position: Hold the bottom sensor with your finger, press and release the DOWN button, then release your finger from the bottom sensor. This position is now saved. The Smart Blind Lite will stop here automatically when extending.

  5. 5 The "up" and "down" buttons of Smart Blind Lite reverse to the actual movement: When this occurs, press the "Up" button to move the blind to its lowest position. After reaching the lowest point, it will continue to the highest position. The "Up" and "Down" buttons should now correspond correctly with the actual movement direction.
  6. 6 Press button no response after installation: Please confirm that the batteries are installed correctly.
  7. 7 How to stop the Smart Blind Lite when it's extending/retracting: You can stop the blind by pressing the Stop button on the bottom rail, using the remote, or via the Third Reality App. You cannot stop the extending/retracting action using the Up/Down buttons on the rail or remote, nor with voice commands like "turn On/Off".
