Controller Overview and Features
This section describes the physical layout and key features of the Cosmic Byte ARES Wireless Controller.
Top View of Controller: Features a central LED light strip that can be toggled on/off. Includes a rubberised textured left stick and a directional pad (D-PAD). Prominent buttons include the BACK button, HOME button, and START button. The controller also has a USB C PORT for charging or wired connection. On the right side, there are pressure-sensitive left and right triggers, and rubberised textured right stick. Additionally, there are AUTO and TURBO function buttons.
Button Layout: The controller features standard gaming button configurations. On the top, there are shoulder buttons labeled L1, L2, R1, R2. The face buttons are labeled A, B, X, Y, often with LED illumination. The directional pad (D-PAD) is on the left, and the analog sticks (Left Stick - LSB, Right Stick - RSB) are positioned for ergonomic use. The HOME, START, BACK, TURBO, and AUTO buttons are centrally located.
Rear and Bottom View: The rear of the controller includes a reset button. The bottom view shows the USB C port for connectivity and charging, along with the L1, L2, R1, R2 trigger buttons.

Mode and Indicator Status

Platform & Connection
PC: Compatible with Windows. Offers Plug and Play functionality for Windows 8 and above. No driver installation is required.
Android/PS3: No driver required for connection.
Note for Android: For Android devices (version 4.0 and above), an OTG function is required. Connect the gamepad to your phone using an OTG cable and the wireless dongle. For specific Android compatibility, please consult your device manufacturer. Android compatibility issues are not covered under warranty.
Operation Instructions
Powering Off
To turn off the controller, press and hold the 'B' button and the 'Back' button simultaneously for 5 seconds.
Changing Modes
Press and hold the 'HOME' key for more than 5 seconds to switch between X-input and Direct input modes.
LED Switch
- ABXY LED: Press the 'X' button and the 'Back' button together to turn the ABXY LEDs off. Press them again to turn the LEDs back on.
- V LED: Press the 'A' button and the 'Back' button together to turn the V LED off. Press them again to turn the LEDs back on.
Left Joystick and D-PAD Switch
Press the 'L3' button (pressing down the left analog stick) and the 'Back' button together to switch between joystick and D-pad functionality for the left control input.
Device Connection
Connect the gamepad to your PC using the provided wireless dongle. Ensure there is a clear line of sight with no obstructions between the gamepad and the dongle for the best connection. Using the included USB Extension cable is recommended for optimal results.
Notes:
- When connecting to Android and PS3, there is no need to manually change the controller's mode.
- The gamepad will automatically connect to Windows systems in X-input mode.
- If you encounter difficulties connecting the gamepad to Windows, try disconnecting and reconnecting the gamepad.
Turbo and Auto Turbo Functions
Turbo Function (A, B, X, Y, L1, L2, R1, R2)
- Set Turbo: Press the desired button (A, B, X, Y, L1, L2, R1, or R2) that you wish to assign the Turbo function to, and then press the 'Turbo' button.
- Cancel Turbo: Press the button with the Turbo function assigned (A, B, X, Y, L1, L2, R1, or R2) and then press the 'Turbo' button again to disable it.
Auto Turbo Function (A, B, X, Y, L1, L2, R1, R2)
- Set AUTO Turbo: Press the desired button (A, B, X, Y, L1, L2, R1, or R2) and then press the 'AUTO' button to enable Auto Turbo for that button.
- Cancel AUTO Turbo: Press the button with the Auto Turbo function assigned (A, B, X, Y, L1, L2, R1, or R2) and then press the 'AUTO' button again to disable it.
Battery Information
- When the controller's battery is low, the LED indicator will flash, and the gamepad will automatically turn off vibration to conserve power.
- While the gamepad is charging, the LED indicator will flash slowly.
- Once charging is complete, the LED indicator will turn off.
Note: For charging, use only 5V/1A chargers or connect the gamepad to a PC's USB port. Using fast chargers may damage the battery and internal components. Using fast charging will void the warranty.

How to Pair Ares Controller to the Dongle
If the LED light on the dongle and the controller's Home button are continuously blinking, it indicates that they are not paired to each other.
Pairing Steps:
- Plug the wireless receiver (dongle) into your PC.
- Press the 'Home' button on the controller.
- When the lights on the controller start blinking, press the 'Home' button twice.
- The LEDs on both the dongle and the controller should stop blinking, indicating a successful connection.
- The controller is now ready for use.

Warranty Information
The Cosmic Byte ARES Wireless Controller comes with a 1-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects only. The warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage, or products that have been tampered with. Normal wear and tear from battery usage is also not covered.
