4. Installation

Step 1: Fix the perforation-assisted sticker at the camera's intended installation position, then punch holes as indicated on the sticker.

Step 2: Fix the mounting bracket on the position by using the screws. Available mounting options include Wall Mount (A72 V2 & A71), Junction Box (A84), and Pendant Mount (A76 V2).

Step 3: Pass the tail cable of the device port into the mounting bracket. If there is no hole in the wall, pull the tail cable out from the side before installing the mounting bracket. Remove the plug from the slot and ensure the tail cable is in the side wire trough before tightening the mounting bracket screws.

Step 4: Rotate the camera unit to detach the camera mounting bracket.

Step 5: After attaching the camera to the mounting bracket, tighten the horizontal limit screw.

Step 6: Adjust the camera position by loosening the vertical limit screw and rotating the camera to match the scene. The camera offers adjustable ranges: horizontal pan 0° to 360°, vertical tilt 0° to 90°, and overall rotation 0° to 360°.

Step 7: Finish the installation.

The General I/O Terminal Block has four pins:

6. How to Connect the Water-proof Connector

Follow these steps to ensure a secure and waterproof connection:

  1. Get the network cable through the screw nut, rubber ring, and the screw bolt.
  2. Insert the rubber ring into the screw bolt.
  3. Connect the screw nut to the screw bolt.
  4. Place the O-Ring on the network port connector.
  5. Connect the RJ45 to the network port connector and tighten the screw bolt and the connector.

Note: Tightly wrap all cable-out interfaces with adhesive tape at the end to prevent water ingress.

7. Assigning an IP Address by Using Smart Tools

Milesight Smart Tools is a software utility for detecting, configuring IP addresses, and managing firmware upgrades for Milesight network cameras on a LAN. It is recommended for managing multiple cameras.

Steps:

  1. Launch Smart Tools and navigate to the IPC Tools page. Enter device information (IP address, MAC address, Port number, Netmask, Gateway) to display compatible Milesight network cameras in the network.
  2. Select the camera(s) by MAC address.
  3. Click "Activate" to set a password (8-32 characters, including at least one number and one letter) and three security questions for initial use.
  4. Enter the username and password, then modify the IP address or other network settings by clicking "Modify".
  5. Access the camera via a web browser by double-clicking the selected camera in the tool or by entering its IP address in your browser.

For detailed instructions, refer to the "Smart Tools User Manual".

8. Assigning an IP Address via Browser

If your computer's network segment differs from the camera's, configure your PC with an IP address in the same subnet (e.g., 192.168.5.xx with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0) to establish access. Refer to the "Milesight Network Camera Quick Start" for more details.

9. Accessing from the Web Browser

The camera is compatible with most standard operating systems and browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. For information on plugin installation, consult the troubleshooting guides:
