ASUS PRIME B760-PLUS D4 Motherboard Quick Start Guide

This guide provides essential steps for installing and setting up your ASUS PRIME B760-PLUS D4 motherboard.

Motherboard Layout

The motherboard features the LGA1700 socket for the CPU, four DDR4 DIMM slots for memory (DIMM_A1, DIMM_A2, DIMM_B1, DIMM_B2), multiple M.2 slots for storage (M.2_1, M.2_2, M.2_3), PCIe slots for expansion cards (PCIEX16, PCIEX1), SATA ports for storage devices (SATA6G_1 through SATA6G_4), and various headers for system connections (USB, fan, RGB, TPM, COM). It is based on the Intel B760 chipset.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Install the CPU

Open the CPU socket lever. Align the CPU's triangle indicator with the socket's triangle indicator. Gently place the CPU into the socket. Close the lever.

Step 2: Install the CPU Fan

Mount the CPU cooler's retention mechanism onto the motherboard. Apply thermal paste if necessary. Secure the CPU cooler heatsink and fan assembly onto the CPU.

Step 3: Install Memory Modules

Open the clips on the DIMM slots. Align the notch on the memory module with the notch in the DIMM slot. Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips lock into place.

Step 4: Install Storage Devices

Install M.2 SSDs into the designated M.2 slots and SATA storage devices into the SATA ports. For detailed M.2 installation instructions, please refer to the user guide.

Step 5: Install Expansion Card(s)

Remove the appropriate expansion slot cover from the computer case. Align the expansion card with the corresponding PCIe slot on the motherboard and press down firmly until it is securely seated.

Step 6: Install System Panel Connector

Connect the system panel connectors from the computer case (e.g., power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, power LED) to the corresponding pins on the motherboard's front panel header.

Step 7: Install ATX Power Connectors

Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin (or 4+4 pin) CPU power connector from the power supply unit to the motherboard.

Step 8: Connect Input/Output Devices

Connect external devices such as a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and USB devices to the appropriate ports on the motherboard's rear I/O panel.

Step 9: Power On and Install OS/Drivers

Turn on the system. Proceed to install your operating system and necessary drivers.
