Congratulations on your purchase of a high-quality Insignia product. Your NS-PCS21 is designed for reliable and trouble-free performance.

Before using your new product, please read these instructions to prevent any damage.

Features: Right Speaker (Front)

1 On/Off, Volume control: Rotate clockwise to turn on the speaker system or to increase volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to turn the speaker system off or to reduce volume.

2 Headphone output jack: Connect your favorite headphones to this jack. They will mute the speaker system automatically. The master volume control can then be used to turn up or down the volume to your headphones.

3 Bass control: Rotate clockwise to increase bass output. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease bass output.

Setting Up Your Speaker System

Positioning Your Speaker System

1. Place the speakers on opposite sides of the device they are connected to and as far apart as possible.

2. Place the subwoofer on the floor.

Connecting to a Computer

1. Make sure that the computer and your speaker system are turned off and unplugged from the power outlet.

2. Plug the cable with the green plug on the right speaker into the audio out jack on the computer (this jack is usually green).

3. Plug the cable with the black plug on the right speaker into the jack on the subwoofer.

4. Turn on the computer and your speaker system.

Connecting to Portable Audio Devices

1. Make sure the portable audio device and your speaker system are turned off and unplugged.

2. Plug the green audio cable attached to the speaker into your audio device.

3. Plug the cable with the black plug on the right speaker into the jack on the subwoofer.

4. Plug the black plug from the AC adapter into the back of the right speaker and the other end into a wall outlet or power strip.

5. Turn on the speaker system and your device.

Troubleshooting

SymptomSolution
Speaker system will not turn on
  • Rotate the power button on the right speaker. When your speaker system is turned on, the power LED lights blue.
  • Make sure that the power cord is connected to a power outlet.
  • Test the power outlet to make sure that it is supplying power.
Speaker does not produce sound
  • Rotate the power button on the right speaker. When your speaker system is turned on, the power LED lights blue.
  • Make sure that the power cord is connected to a power outlet.
  • Test the power outlet to make sure that it is supplying power.
  • Make sure that you have connected the speakers correctly. For more information, see "Setting up your speaker system" on page 1 of this Quick Setup Guide.
  • Make sure that the sound is not muted or the volume is not set too low on the audio device you connected to.
  • Try connecting your speaker system to another audio device. If your speaker system produces sound, the problem is with the audio device you connected to.
Sound is distorted
  • Adjust the master volume control to the ¼ or ½ level.
  • Adjust volume settings on the output device (computer or portable audio source).
Sound is coming from one speaker
  • If your speaker system is connected to a computer, adjust your computer’s audio levels to balance the sound coming from the speakers.
  • Reseat the audio connector into the audio out jack of your computer.

Important Safety Information

  2. Do not use this apparatus near water.
  3. Clean only with a dry cloth.
  4. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  6. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  7. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  8. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  9. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  10. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
