General Safety:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Use the iron only for its intended purpose.
- Do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
- Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging. Grasp the plug, not the cord, to disconnect.
- Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool completely before storing.
- Always disconnect the iron when filling, emptying, or when not in use.
- Do not operate with a damaged cord or if the iron is dropped or damaged. Do not disassemble; contact authorized service.
- Close supervision is necessary when used by or near children. Do not leave unattended when connected.
- Be cautious of hot metal parts, hot water, and steam, which can cause burns.
- This appliance is for domestic and personal use only.
Special Instructions:
- To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.
- If an extension cord is necessary, use a 15-amp cord. Ensure it is arranged to prevent tripping.
- Take extra care when ironing close to edges or corners. Never direct steam towards people or animals.
- Use and place the iron on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure the iron rest is stable.
Using the Iron
Filling the Water Tank:
- Unplug the iron before filling.
- Open the filling inlet and fill with water up to the Max. mark.
- Close the inlet and return the iron to a horizontal position.
- Plug in the iron.
Setting the Temperature:
- Use the MODE button to select the desired fabric type. The LED screen will indicate the selected fabric.
- The iron automatically adjusts temperature and steam for optimal results.
- Wait for the selected fabric indicator to stop flashing before ironing.
- For mixed fabrics, set the temperature for the most delicate fabric.
- For dry ironing, do not press the steam trigger.
Steam Ironing:
- Press the steam trigger to activate steam. Press continuously for continuous steam, or use short bursts for steam boost.
- On NYLON mode, steam is blocked to protect clothes.
- For steam boost on LINEN and COTTON modes, press the trigger to the maximum level (1 second max). Wait a few seconds between bursts.
- Vertical Shot of Steam: Hold the iron vertically and press the trigger to the maximum level to remove creases from hanging garments like suits, jackets, skirts, and curtains. Wait a few seconds between shots. Hold the iron 20 cm away from the garment.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Always unplug the iron and let it cool down before cleaning.
- Cleaning the Iron: Wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. A non-abrasive cleaner can be used. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp objects.
- Calc Clean Program (4-6 min): This program flushes out dirt and scale particles from the steam chamber to prolong the iron's life. Run the program when the CALC CLEAN warning light is illuminated. Follow the steps: unplug, fill water tank, plug in, place over sink, press Mode and trigger simultaneously for 20 seconds. Allow to cool and wipe clean.
- Do not use descaling agents; they can permanently damage the iron.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Soleplate remains cold | No mains supply. Automatic shut-off active. Iron not ready. | Check plug. Move iron. Wait for mode to stop flashing. |
Little or no steam | Not enough water. Anti-drip active. Trigger not pressed. Steam blocked on NYLON mode. | Fill water tank. Wait for soleplate to heat. Press trigger. Select higher mode. |
Brown streaks on soleplate | Residues in steam chamber/soleplate. Chemical descalers/additives used. Fabric fibers accumulated and burning. | Use Calc Clean program. Do not use additives. Clean soleplate with non-metallic sponge. |
Brown streaks on soleplate (cont.) | Linen not rinsed. Starch used. Distilled/demineralized water used. | Ensure linen is rinsed. Spray starch on reverse side. Use tap water or mix tap/distilled water. |
Iron is leaking | Excessive steam trigger use. Steam boost used on NYLON, SILK, WOOL. | Allow time between bursts. Use steam boost only on COTTON or LINEN. |
Water Usage
The iron is designed for tap water. If your water is very hard (above 30°f or 17°dH or 21°e), mix 50% tap water with 50% demineralized water.
Do not use:
- Water with additives (starch, perfume, etc.).
- Condensation water (from dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners, rainwater).
- Pure demineralized or distilled water.
These types of water can cause spitting, staining, leaking, or premature wear.
