General Safety Warnings
[DANGER] Warnings
- Abnormalities like smoke or fire can cause severe injury or death. Turn off power and contact your dealer immediately.
- Refrigerant gas can produce toxic gas when in contact with fire, potentially causing severe injury or death.
- Refrigerant gas is heavier than air and can cause asphyxiation hazards in enclosed spaces.
- Using equipment with a burner in the same room can lead to oxygen deficiency and asphyxiation. Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Dispose of packing materials safely to prevent injuries from sharp parts. Keep plastic bags away from children to prevent suffocation.
- Do not install in areas with flammable materials due to explosion risk.
[WARNING] Warnings
- Prolonged exposure to airflow can be detrimental to health.
- Professional installation by a dealer is recommended to prevent water leakage, electric shock, and fire.
- Unauthorized improvements, repairs, or maintenance can lead to water leakage, electric shock, and fire.
- Improper installation or attachment of accessories can cause electric shock, short-circuit, leaks, fire, or damage. Use only Daikin-specified accessories, installed by a professional.
- Moving and reinstalling the unit should be done by a dealer to avoid installation issues.
- Never get the indoor unit or remote controller wet to prevent electric shock or fire.
- Avoid using flammable sprays near the unit to prevent fire.
- Never replace fuses with incorrect ratings or use wires as substitutes; this can cause unit breakdown or fire.
- Never remove the fan guard; the high-speed fan is dangerous.
- Do not service the unit yourself; contact a qualified service person.
- Always cut off electric power before maintenance.
- Never sprinkle water or liquids on the unit to avoid electrical shock.
- Operating the unit with wet hands poses a shock hazard.
- Regularly check the unit stand for damage, especially after long use, to prevent the unit from falling.
- Do not place containers with water or liquids on the unit, as spills can cause shock hazards or fire.
- Keep children away from the unit to prevent injury.
- Do not insert fingers or objects into air inlets/outlets; the fan can cause injury.
- Heat exchanger fins are sharp; wear gloves when working around them.
- Ensure proper earthing; do not earth to utility pipes, arresters, or telephone earths. Improper earthing can cause electric shock or fire.
- Install an earth leakage breaker to prevent electric shocks or fire.
[CAUTION] Warnings
- Do not use the air conditioner for purposes other than its intended use (e.g., cooling precision instruments, food, plants, animals, art).
- Do not place items under the indoor unit that could be damaged by condensation, which may form if humidity is high or the drain outlet is blocked.
- Avoid placing the controller where it can be splashed with water, as this can cause electric leaks or damage internal parts.
- Do not operate the air conditioner when using room fumigation-type insecticides, as chemicals can deposit in the unit and affect sensitive individuals.
- Wait at least five minutes after stopping operation before turning off the power to prevent water leakage or other issues.
- The appliance is not intended for use by unsupervised young children or infirm persons.
- Install the remote controller where children cannot play with it.
- Consult an installation contractor for cleaning the inside of the unit; improper cleaning can break plastic parts or cause leaks/shocks.
- Use a stable stool and exercise caution when cleaning.
- Do not place objects near the outdoor unit or allow leaves/debris to accumulate around it, as this can attract small animals that may cause malfunctions or fire.
[NOTE] Warnings
- Never press the remote controller buttons with a hard, pointed object to avoid damage.
- Never pull or twist the remote controller's electric wire to prevent unit malfunction.
- Arrange the drain hose for smooth drainage to prevent wetting of surroundings.
- Do not expose the controller to direct sunlight, as the LCD display may discolor.
- Do not wipe the controller panel with gasoline, thinner, or chemical dustcloths; use a damp cloth with mild detergent for cleaning.

Maintenance
[WARNING] Maintenance Precautions
- Only qualified personnel are permitted to perform maintenance (excluding daily maintenance).
- Always turn off all power supply switches before touching any connection wiring.
- Installation of optional parts must be performed by a qualified person using only company-specified parts to avoid issues like water leakage, electric shock, or fire.
[CAUTION] Cleaning Precautions
- Stop operation and turn off the power switch before cleaning the air conditioner.
Cleaning the Air Filter
Explanation
- Removing the air filter outside of cleaning may cause accidents.
- The filter cleaning indicator [filter-icon] will be displayed on the remote controller when it's time to clean the filter.
- The indicator appears after a designated operating time (default factory setting is 2500 hours). Other display patterns include 1250, 2500, 5000, 10000 hours.
- Increase filter cleaning frequency in dusty environments.
- Consult your dealer to change the time setting for the filter indicator.
Cleaning Procedure
- Step 1: Remove the air filter. (Diagram shows filter removal from bottom/back side units).
- Step 2: Clean it.
- [CAUTION]: Do not wash with hot water over 120°F (50°C) as it may cause discoloration or deformation.
- [CAUTION]: Never dry the filter by direct firing; it may burn.
- Use a vacuum cleaner (A) to remove dust and trash.
- Alternatively, wash the air filter (B) with water. For very dirty filters, use a soft brush and neutral detergent. Dewater and dry in the shade.
- Step 3: Attach the air filter. (Diagram shows attaching the filter by pushing down on tabs).
- Step 4: Reset the filter indicator. Push the "filter sign reset" button on the remote controller. The display [filter-icon] will vanish.
Cleaning the Air Outlet and Exterior
- Clean with a dry soft cloth.
- For stubborn stains, use water or neutral detergent.
- [WARNING]: Do not let the indoor unit get wet, as it may cause electric shock or fire.
- [CAUTION]: Do not use gasoline, benzene, thinner, polishing powder, or liquid insecticide. Do not use hot water over 120°F (50°C).
