General Safety & Operation
- Read the manual carefully before use.
- This unit is classified under "appliances not accessible to the general public" and must be installed at a minimum height of 8-3/16 ft (2.5m).
- Observe all WARNING and CAUTION precautions.
- Keep the manual in a convenient place for future reference.
- Avoid prolonged, direct exposure to cool or warm air.
- If the unit malfunctions (e.g., burning odor), turn off power and contact your dealer.
- Do not place objects in air inlets or outlets.
- Do not touch internal parts or remove panels without professional guidance.
- Do not expose the remote controller to water or direct sunlight.
- Do not use the unit in places with flammable gas, corrosive gas, oil vapor, or metal dust.
- Do not place burners, heaters, or water containers near the unit.
- Turn off the main power switch when not in use for extended periods.
- Ensure smooth drainage for the drain hose.
- Do not operate with the control panel lid open.
- Do not operate when using room fumigation insecticides.
- Supervise children to prevent them from playing with the unit or remote controller.
- Do not let children play on or around the outdoor unit.
- Do not touch air inlets or aluminum fins.
- Do not place objects near the outdoor unit; keep it clear of leaves and debris.
Electrical Safety
- Turn off all power supply switches before maintenance.
- Do not operate with wet hands.
- Ensure proper grounding. Do not ground to utility piping, lightning conductors, or telephone ground leads.
- Install a ground fault circuit interrupter.
- Use fuses with the correct ampere reading.
- Use a dedicated power supply circuit.
- Never use the power circuit breaker to start or stop the unit.
Refrigerant Safety
- Be aware of fire risk in case of refrigerant leakage.
- If refrigerant leaks, turn off the unit and call your dealer.
- Ensure adequate ventilation in small rooms to prevent oxygen depletion if refrigerant leaks.
- Consult your dealer for relocation and reinstallation.
Installation Site Considerations
- Install in a well-ventilated place with no obstacles.
- Avoid locations with: mist of mineral salt, high salt content, sulfured gas, considerable voltage fluctuations, vehicles/vessels, kitchens with oil splatter/steam, machines generating electromagnetic waves, or acid/alkaline steam/vapor.
- Consider snow protection measures if applicable.
- All wiring must be done by a qualified professional.
- Ensure the unit can withstand running noise and vibrations.
- Ensure outdoor unit exhaust does not disturb neighbors.
- Check for obstacles near the outdoor unit's air outlet to maintain performance.
- Stop operation and consult dealer if abnormal noises occur.
- Ensure drain piping allows complete drainage to prevent water leakage.
- Consult Daikin dealer for system relocation.
Maintenance
- Only qualified personnel for maintenance (except daily).
- Turn off power before touching wiring.
- Do not use flammable materials or organic solvents for cleaning.
- Use only manufacturer-specified accessories.
- Consult dealer for interior cleaning.
How to Clean the Air Filter
Clean the air filter when the display shows "TIME TO CLEAN AIR FILTER". Increase frequency if air is heavily contaminated.
- Do not remove the filter except for cleaning.
- Do not use items other than the genuine air filter (e.g., kitchen paper) on the suction.
- Request a special contractor for filter cleaning.
- Use optional filter chamber if available.
- Clean filter at the beginning of cooling/heating season.
- Press FILTER SIGN RESET button on remote controller after cleaning.
How to Clean Air Outlet and Outside Panels
- Clean with a soft cloth.
- Use water or neutral detergent for stubborn stains.
- Do not use gasoline, benzene, thinner, polishing powder, or liquid insecticide, as this may cause discoloration or warping.
- Do not let the indoor unit get wet.
- Do not use hot water above 122°F (50°C).
