Product Overview
The WMF 5000S+ is a high-performance coffee machine designed for professional use. This document provides detailed instructions for its operation and maintenance.
Key Components of the WMF 5000S+
- 1. Coffee Bean Hopper (Up to 2): Stores coffee beans for brewing.
- 2. Powder Hopper (Chocolate): For dispensing chocolate or other powders.
- 3. Cleaning Tablet Insert: Location for inserting cleaning tablets.
- 4. Touch Display: Interactive screen for beverage selection and settings.
- 5. Beverage Dispense Spout: Dispenses the prepared beverages.
- 6. Grounds Container / Grounds Through: Collects used coffee grounds.
- 7. Removable Drip Tray with Drip Grid: Catches spills and drips.
- 8. Hot Water Spout: Provides hot water for beverages like tea.
- 9. Operating Panel: Contains physical buttons and controls.
- 10. Side Illumination: Lights up the sides of the machine.
- 11. On/Off Switch: Powers the machine on and off.

10L Side Fridge
The WMF 5000S+ can be paired with a 10L side fridge for milk storage.
- 1. Temperature LCD: Displays the current temperature inside the fridge.
- 2. Door Lock: Secures the fridge door.
- 3. On/Off Switch: Controls the power to the fridge.
- 4. Door: Access to the interior of the fridge.
- 5. Fridge Seal: Ensures a tight seal to maintain temperature.
- 6. Milk Line: Connects the fridge to the coffee machine for milk delivery.
- 7. Milk Lance: The component that draws milk from the container.
- 8. Milk Container Lid: Covers the milk container.

Cleaning Information
Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining the performance and hygiene of the WMF 5000S+.
Cleaning Tablets
- RINZA (Milk Frother Cleaning): Used for cleaning milk systems. Part No: 12-MKTAB12-40.
- CAFIZA (Espresso Machine Cleaning Tablets): Used for cleaning the coffee brewing unit. Part No: 12-ESPTH12-100.
End of Day System Clean (Approx. 15 Minutes)
- Access the home menu and select 'Care' option.
- Select 'Cleaning programs', then 'System cleaning'.
- Confirm if the machine needs to shut down after cleaning.
- If no beverages are to be made after cleaning, select 'NO'. If operation is required, select 'YES'.
- Wipe the spout and drip tray with a clean & damp cloth.
- Empty and clean the coffee grounds container.
- Insert one RINZA tablet into each blue container (for milk system). Do not add water.
- Plug the milk line into the blue WMF cleaning container. Place the cleaning box on the drip tray during the cleaning process.
- Insert a CAFIZA tablet into the top chute for brewer cleaning.
- The system will progress with cleaning (up to 14 minutes).
- Unplug the milk line from the blue container and plug it back into the milk container. Ensure warm water is inside the blue container.
- If you selected 'No' at Step 4, complete the Milk Activation steps (Steps 14-15). Otherwise, the machine will restart, perform a milk line purge, and be ready for service.
Easy Milk System Exchange & Clean (Approx. 15 Minutes)
- Perform this at the end of the week.
- Disconnect the milk line from the foamer.
- Remove the combi spout & milk hose.
- Separate the foamer into pieces for soaking.
- Re-mount the spare clean foamer, choc hose & milk line.
- Fill a container with warm water and add one RINZA tablet. Soak the dirty foamer & milk line for 5 hours.
- After soaking, rinse all pieces under tap and dry.
- Store in a tub with a lid to avoid contamination.
Auto Steam Wand Cleaning - Daily
- Clean the machine with a clean damp cloth.
- Add one RINZA tablet in a milk jug with 500ml of lukewarm water.
- Completely immerse the nozzle in the cleaning solution.
- For the auto steam wand, briefly press the auto-steam button.
- Soak time: 30 minutes.
- Clean with a brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
- Briefly press the auto-steam button.
- The steam clears the holes of the steam nozzle of milk residue and removes cleaner residue.
- Wipe the steam outlet with a damp cloth.
Auto Steam Wand Cleaning + Dismantle - Weekly
- Clean the machine with a clean damp cloth.
- Unscrew the steam nozzle.
- Immerse the steam nozzle in the cleaning solution for at least 5 hours.
- Clean with a brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Screw the steam nozzle onto the Auto Steam outlet.
- Immerse the steam nozzle in a jug with clear water.
- Briefly touch an Auto Steam button.
- Wipe the steam outlet with a damp cloth.
Refill Coffee Hoppers
- Perform this when prompted by the machine. This procedure takes approx. 2-3 minutes.
- Note: Do not fill above the indicated line. Ensure all hoppers are filled to the same level.
- Step 1: If the machine runs out of coffee, it will prompt the operator to refill the hopper.
- Step 2: Remove the lid and pour coffee into the empty hopper.
- Step 3: Once the hopper is topped up, tap on the green tick to continue.
Chocolate Whipper/Mixer Cleaning (Approx. 10 Minutes)
- Perform this at the end of the week.
- Open the display panel.
- Remove the choc hose from the back of the foamer and slide the spring off.
- Remove the chocolate mixing bowl.
- Separate the top of the bowl and remove the hose.
- Disassemble all parts.
- Wash the unit in water & dry thoroughly.
- Insert the mixer back into the machine and reattach the choc hose & slide the spring on.
- Close the display panel.
- Note: Please ensure the wiper disc is inserted the correct way.
Hopper Cleaning (Approx. 15 Minutes)
- Perform this at the end of the month.
- Step 1: Open the display panel.
- Step 2: Swing the green handle to the left to release all hoppers.
- Step 3: Gently lift the hoppers and empty the contents into a clean container.
- Step 4: Hand wash the hoppers & dry thoroughly.
- Step 5: Refill the hopper with product and place it onto the machine.
- Step 6: Swing the green handle to the right to re-lock the hoppers.
- Step 7: Close the display panel.
- Important: Chocolate Hopper Reassembly: Ensure the hopper is reassembled correctly. Use the exploded diagram as a guide and make sure the half-moon opening is at the top before re-inserting.
Empty Grounds
- Perform this when prompted by the machine. This procedure takes approx. 2 minutes.
- Note: The grounds container has a capacity for approx. 50 brewing cycles. Beverage dispensing is blocked while the container is removed.
- Step 1: Remove the grounds container.
- Step 2: Empty the grounds container into a bin.
- Step 3: Clean the container under sink with cold water then lightly dry.
- Step 4: Replace the grounds container back into the 5000S+.
- Step 5: Select 'Yes' if the grounds container is empty.
Milk Pump Calibration
This process is used if there is a temperature or level shift on all beverages.
- Note: You will need a measuring jug (min 600ml). Keep the measuring cup at hand.
- Step 1: Select the menu on the top left of the screen.
- Step 2: Then select the system menu.
- Step 3: Select 'Quality check milk system'.
- Step 4: Remove the hose from the milk container.
- Step 5: Fill the blue cleaning container with cold water and connect it back to the milk line.
- Step 6: The machine will begin the milk calibration process.
- Step 7: Once the initial step is completed, place the measuring cup below the spout.
- Step 8: Select 'Start'.
- Step 9: Machine will dispense water. Once the 500ml level is reached, press 'Stop'.
- Step 10: If the measuring result is at 500ml (give or take 20ml), select 'Yes'. If not, select 'No' to perform again.
