Superior Reliability and Silent Operation

Introduction

Thank you for choosing a COUGAR® power supply unit. Before installation, please read this manual carefully. For any questions, please contact customer service.

Warnings and Safety Notes

[!] Never open the PSU cover. High voltage inside poses a danger to life. Only authorized technicians should open the PSU. Opening by unauthorized persons voids the warranty.

[!] Do not work on the PSU or PC while the main voltage is connected. Switch the PSU to position "0" and disconnect the power plug.

Protect the PSU against moisture.

The PSU is suitable for operation at 200-240V/50Hz.

The ambient temperature should not exceed 50°C. Note the power de-rating: a decrease of 1% per °C starting from an ambient temperature of 25°C.

Ensure sufficient ventilation for the entire system. Do not cover or clog the PSU ventilation slots.

Keep the PC away from direct heat sources like radiators.

When using extension cords or multiple sockets, pay attention to the maximum through-connection ability to avoid short-circuits.

To clean the PSU: disconnect the power plug, remove the PSU from the PC case. Ensure you are not statically charged (e.g., from carpets or wool sweaters). Clean only the outside with a dry cloth; never use water or detergent.

During operation, pay attention to maximum loads. Single and total loads must not exceed the values in the output power table.

Avoid using adapters, such as 4-Pin Molex to 6+2-Pin PCI-Express.

Installation and Accessories

Before installation, please read the "Warnings and Safety Notes" section.

Use only the supplied screws for PSU assembly, as they have the correct thread. A screwdriver is required.

Included parts:

  • Screws for PSU assembly
  • Power cord (Use only the provided cord; low-quality cords can damage your PSU and PC system.)
  • Brief instruction manual including warranty information

Installation steps:

  1. Place the PSU into its designated spot within the PC case and secure it with the supplied screws.
  2. Connect the mainboard power plugs (20/24 pin, 4 pin, and possibly 8 pin, depending on the mainboard layout) into their respective slots.
  3. Connect disk drives and, if necessary, graphics cards to the PSU.
  4. Close the PC case. Ensure the PSU power switch is set to the "0" (Off) position.
  5. Connect the PSU to the power network using the supplied power cord.
  6. Turn on the PSU, then start your PC.

Safety Functions

  • UVP (Undervoltage Protection): Automatically switches off the PSU if voltages fall below a certain tolerance on any line.
  • OVP (Overvoltage Protection): Automatically switches off the PSU if voltages increase above a certain tolerance on any line.
  • SCP (Short-circuit Protection): Prevents damage to core PSU components and system components in case of a short circuit.
  • OPP (Overload Protection): Activates if the system requires more power from the PSU than it can deliver.
  • OCP (Overcurrent Protection): Automatically switches off the PSU if the current on a single line exceeds the indicated limit.

Troubleshooting

[!] WARNING: Never attempt to repair the PSU yourself. Life-threatening voltages can remain present even after deactivation. Repairs must only be performed by authorized specialists.

Working on power sources can lead to life-threatening injuries. If you notice smoke, cable damage, or liquid intrusion, immediately disconnect the PSU from the power network and do not operate it further. Never open the PSU; it contains components with high voltages even after long periods of deactivation. Repairs must be done by authorized specialists.

Problem: The system does not start after installing the new PSU.

Possible solutions:

  • [Check] Verify the power cord connection to the wall socket and/or multiple socket strip. Ensure the multiple socket strip can supply the necessary power.
  • [Check] Confirm all internal PC cable connections are secure and correctly seated.
  • [Check] Inspect the internal cable connection of the PC case's I/O switch to the mainboard.
  • [Check] Examine components for potential short-circuits or defects.
  • [Check] Verify component compatibility. Mainboard chipsets may not be compatible with all memory or graphics card solutions. Consult component manufacturers for details.

If the PSU still does not function after checking these potential issues, please contact customer service.

Environmental Disposal
