Thank you for purchasing an Amica appliance. Your Amica appliance is exceptionally easy to use and extremely efficient. Before being packaged and leaving the manufacturer, the appliance was thoroughly checked with regard to safety and functionality. Before using the appliance, please carefully read these Operating Instructions.

Safety Instructions for Use

Important! To minimize the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:

  • Carefully read this instruction before using the appliance.
  • The appliance becomes hot during operation. When turned off, some parts may still be hot for some time.
  • Children do not realize the dangers that can arise when using electrical appliances; therefore, keep the appliance out of reach of children.
  • Do not immerse the pitcher or its base in water or other liquids. Immersing in water may cause an electric shock.
  • If water spills on the external components of the appliance, dry it thoroughly before switching back on.
  • Do not touch wet surfaces in contact with the appliance connected to the mains power supply; immediately disconnect it from the mains.
  • Do not use the appliance if it shows any signs of damage to the power cable, or if the appliance has been dropped on the floor.
  • After use, always pull out the plug from the socket, and also in case of any malfunction, before cleaning or before changing accessories.
  • When pulling out the plug from the electrical outlet, never pull by the cable, only the plug, holding the socket with your other hand.
  • The milk frother is a Class I electrical shock protection appliance, and therefore the power outlet to which it is connected must be equipped with an earth pin.
  • Do not attempt to remove any parts of the housing.
  • To prevent damage to the power cable, do not place it over sharp edges or close to heated surfaces.
  • Do not expose the appliance to rain or moisture, and do not use it outdoors. Do not operate the appliance with damp hands.
  • If the power cable or plug is damaged, it should be replaced by a qualified repair service in order to avoid hazard.
  • Using accessories that were not supplied with the product may cause damage to the appliance.
  • Never place the appliance on heated surfaces.
  • Never leave the appliance connected to the mains power supply without supervision.
  • The appliance is designed for heating and frothing milk – do not use it for any other purpose.
  • Never fill the pitcher below the minimum and above the maximum fill lines.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or by persons lacking experience or knowledge of the appliance, unless under supervision or in accordance with the instructions as communicated to them by persons responsible for their safety. Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and older or by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or by those who are lacking experience or knowledge of the appliance, provided they are supervised or have been instructed how to safely use the appliance and are familiar with risks associated with the use of the appliance. Ensure that children do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance of the appliance should not be performed by children unless they are 8 years or older and are supervised by a qualified person.
  • Keep the appliance away from children under 8 years of age when it is hot or not completely cooled down.
  • Unplug the appliance from the power outlet and wait until it cools down before cleaning.
  • Never plug into a mains socket with damp hands; this may cause electric shock.
  • It is not recommended to use extension cords to connect the appliance to the power outlet.
  • The surface on which the appliance is used shall be level, clean, and dry.
  • Take caution when cleaning the accessories.
  • Pull the plug from the electrical outlet before replacing accessories.
  • Always use the appliance with the base and lid in place.
  • Before use, check that the lid is securely attached.
  • When you take the pitcher off the base, ensure 3 seconds elapse before you place it back, or a previously set function may continue.
  • Before you put the plug into the electrical outlet, make sure your hands are dry.
  • Do not use the appliance without properly secured accessories.
  • After use, disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply.
  • Do not remove the lid during appliance operation. Wait until the frothing whisk stops completely before you open the lid. Otherwise, the appliance will not operate properly and may be damaged.

Electrical Requirements

Make sure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds to that of your home mains electricity. Alternating current [~] must be used.

Disposing/Scrapping of Used Equipment

WEEE Directive Compliance: This appliance is marked with the symbol of the crossed-out waste bin [♻️]. In accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU and local legislation regarding used electrical and electronic goods, this appliance must not be disposed of together with other household waste after it has been used.

The user is obliged to hand it over to a waste collection center collecting used electrical and electronic goods. The collectors, including local collection points, shops, and local authority departments, provide recycling schemes. Proper handling of used electrical and electronic goods helps avoid environmental and health hazards resulting from the presence of dangerous components and the inappropriate storage and processing of such goods.

Packaging: During transportation, protective packaging was used to protect the appliance against any damage. After unpacking, please dispose of all elements of packaging in a way that will not cause damage to the environment. All materials used for packaging the appliance are environmentally friendly; they are 100% recyclable and are marked with the appropriate symbol. Important! Packaging materials (bags, polyethylene, polystyrene, etc.) should be kept away from children during unpacking.

The diagram shows the main components of the milk frother:

  • The lid with an integrated whisk assembly.
  • The jug designed to hold milk.
  • The power base that connects to the electrical outlet.

Operation

Use the appliance to:

  • Froth milk
  • Heat milk
  • Froth and heat milk

Before First Use:

  • Before using your milk frother, clean all the parts according to the section “Cleaning and Maintenance”.
  • The mixing paddle is equipped with a frothing ring. The frothing ring is used for frothing milk during heating or for frothing separately (without heating). The mixing paddle is used for mixing milk during heating to prevent sticking.

NOTE: The maximum capacity of the jug is 800ml.

I. Frothing

  1. Place the appliance on a flat surface.
  2. Fill the jug with the desired amount of milk and replace the lid. NOTE: The maximum milk quantity permitted is 150ml to avoid milk overflowing after frothing.
  3. Place the jug on the power base and connect the plug into an electrical outlet. All indicators will illuminate white.
  4. Press the frothing button once. The corresponding indicator will illuminate white and flash. The mixing paddle and frothing ring will rotate for frothing milk separately, but the heating element will not heat. The appliance will automatically stop rotating after operating. Note: During operation, you can stop by pressing the frothing button.
  5. When the appliance has stopped operating, open the lid, pour out the frothed milk, and enjoy.

Caution: A minimum rest period of 3 minutes must be maintained between two continuous cycles. Otherwise, the appliance will enter overheating protection mode automatically after working for 5 cycles continuously. The indicator will illuminate red and flash. After about 10 minutes, the appliance will enter standby mode, and you can continue operating it.

Always disconnect the power supply when not in use.

NOTE: During operation, please do not open the lid. If you press a function button before replacing the lid, the unit cannot blend.

II. Heating

  1. Place the appliance on a flat surface.
  2. Open the lid and take out the frothing ring from the mixing paddle.
  3. Fill the jug with the desired amount of milk and replace the lid. NOTE: The maximum milk quantity permitted is 250ml to avoid milk overflowing after heating.
  4. Place the jug on the power base and connect the plug into an electrical outlet. All indicators will illuminate white.
  5. Press the heating button once. The corresponding indicator will illuminate white and flash. The appliance will then start to work. Once the temperature of the milk has achieved approximately 70±10°C, the heating element will stop heating, and the mixing paddle will stop rotating automatically. Note: During operation, you can stop by pressing the heating button once.
  6. When the appliance has stopped operating, open the lid, pour out the warmed milk, and enjoy.

Note: The rotation of the mixing paddle is only used for avoiding sticking. It will not froth the milk.

Caution: A minimum rest period of 3 minutes must be maintained between two continuous cycles. Otherwise, the appliance will enter overheating protection mode automatically after working for 5 cycles continuously. The indicator will illuminate red and flash. After about 10 minutes, the appliance will enter standby mode, and you can continue operating it.

Always disconnect the power supply when not in use.

III. Frothing & Heating

  1. Place the appliance on a flat surface.

  3. Place the jug on the power base and connect the plug into an electrical outlet. All indicators will illuminate white.
  4. Press the froth and heat button once. The corresponding indicator will illuminate white and flash. The appliance will then start to work. Once the temperature of the milk has achieved approximately 70±10°C, the heating element will stop heating, and the mixing paddle will stop rotating automatically.
  5. When the appliance has stopped operating, open the lid, pour out the warmed and frothed milk, and enjoy.

NOTE!: Ensure a minimum rest period of 3 minutes is observed between two continuous operation cycles. If you do not observe the minimum rest period, the appliance will automatically enter the protection mode after 5 continuous cycles (the indicators will flash and the control buttons will be inactive). After about 10 minutes, the appliance will go into standby and you can continue to use it. Even if you unplug the appliance, you still need to wait about 10 minutes.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning

Preparation for cleaning

  • Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool down before cleaning.

CAUTION: Never immerse the power base in water, or allow moisture to contact these parts.

  • Wash the lid with water and mild detergent. The lid is not dishwasher safe. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Remove the frothing ring and wash it completely in warm water.
  • Wash the inner of the jug with a combination of a mild detergent and water, and then wipe clean with a soft damp cloth.
  • Wipe the exterior of the jug with a soft damp cloth or cleaner; never use a poisonous cleaner.

NOTE: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the appliance to prevent gloss loss.

NOTE!: Be careful when installing, removing, and washing the ring (do not squeeze or stretch the ring).

The diagram shows the process of removing the frothing ring from the mixing paddle. It involves gently pulling and rotating the ring off the paddle. Arrows indicate the direction of movement for removal.
