Quick Start Guide Using Your High-Efficiency Washer
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons, read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS, located in your appliance's Owner's Manual, before operating this appliance.
Important Safety Information
WARNING: Fire Hazard
- Never place items in the washer that are damp with gasoline or other flammable fluids.
- No washer can completely remove oil.
- Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it (including cooking oils). Doing so can result in death, explosion, or fire.
NOTES:
- Deep Water Wash is not available in the Normal cycle. Selecting the Normal cycle with Deep Water Wash will result in auto sensing of the water level.
- See "Cycle Guide" in the Use and Care Guide for more information about cycles, settings, and options. Not all cycles, settings, and options are available with all models. Read your Use and Care Guide before using your washer.
Operating Instructions
-
ADD HE DETERGENT
Follow manufacturer's instructions to determine amount of laundry products to use.
-
LOAD THE WASHER
Ensure the washer is loaded properly.
-
ADD BLEACH AND FABRIC SOFTENER (If desired)
Add liquid fabric softener before beginning the cycle. Follow manufacturer's instructions to determine amount, then dilute liquid fabric softener by filling dispenser to underside of rim with warm water. Fabric softener will automatically be added during the final rinse.
For fabric softener without a dispenser: Add fabric softener during the final rinse. Press START/PAUSE to pause the washer. Lift lid and add measured recommended amount of liquid fabric softener. Close lid and press START/PAUSE again to start the washer.
-
TURN ON THE MACHINE
Press the START/PAUSE button or rotate the cycle selection knob. LEDs 2, 3, 4, and 5 should all light up, LED 1 flashing, and LED 6 off.
-
SELECT CYCLE
Cycles vary by model. Options include: Normal, Super Wash, Casual, Delicate, Quick Wash, Heavy Duty, Bulky Items/Sheets, Drain & Spin, Soak, Rinse & Spin, Clean Washer with affresh.
-
SELECT CYCLE SETTINGS
Options vary by model. Settings include SOIL LEVEL (Heavy, Med, Light, Ex Light), RINSE OPTIONS (1 Rinse, 2 Rinses, 1 Rinse with softener, 2 Rinses with softener), and WATER LEVEL (Auto Sensing, Deep Water Wash).
-
PRESS START/PAUSE
Press and release START/PAUSE to begin the cycle. Note: If you hold START/PAUSE for more than 3 seconds, it will cancel your cycle and drain the washer.
-
ADD A GARMENT
During the Fill/Sensing or Wash phase, open the lid, add a garment, and close the lid. When the machine is paused, the LED of the cycle you were in will be flashing. Press the START/PAUSE button to resume the cycle.
Note: The washer will not fill with the lid open. During the Spin cycle, the lid will be locked.
IMPORTANT: If the lid is left open for more than 10 minutes, the wash cycle will cancel and the water will pump out.
WARNING: Do not wash water-resistant or water repellant-type clothing. Failure to closely follow these instructions may result in an abnormal vibrating and out-of-balance condition that could result in physical injury, property damage, and/or appliance damage.
