Installation Instructions
Step 1: Unpack Air Conditioner
WARNING: Excessive Weight Hazard - Use two or more people to move and install. Failure to do so can result in injury.
- Remove all packaging materials. Save the carton and foam for storage.
- Dispose of/recycle packaging materials properly.
- Handle the air conditioner gently and keep it upright and level. Do not set it on its side, front, back, or upside down.
Step 2: Install Exhaust Nozzle to Main Window Panel
- Hold the main window panel with L-shaped edges facing you.
- Align the exhaust nozzle with the slots in the panel opening and insert/slide it to access the hole.
- Turn the panel over, insert a flat screw through the hole to fasten the nozzle to the panel.
- For dual hose units, install the smaller hose nozzle to the left-hand hole.
Step 3: Install Main Window Panel and Extension Panels
- Open the window and place the main window panel into the window frame. The assembly accommodates vertical or horizontal slide windows.
- Adjust extension panel(s) to fit the window width or height.
- Use two or four flat screws to secure the main panel to the extension panel(s).
- Place the window panel assembly in the window and fasten it to the sill and frame using the provided screws.
- Install the security bracket using a pointed screw to prevent the window from being opened from the outside.
- Use foam strips and brackets (provided) to secure extension panels and fill any gaps in the window opening.
Step 4: Attach Exhaust Hose to the Exhaust Nozzle
- Grasp both ends of the exhaust hose and gently pull to expand it. Do not attach additional hoses, as this reduces cooling efficiency and may damage the unit.
- Using a counterclockwise motion, attach the open end of the exhaust hose to the exhaust nozzle.
Step 5: Connect Exhaust Hose to the Air Conditioner
Ensure the air conditioner is close enough to the window so the hose does not dislodge the window seal plate.
- Align the notches on the connector end of the exhaust hose with the ridges in the opening on the back of the air conditioner.
- Snap the connector end of the hose into the air outlet on the back of the unit.
- After connecting the hose, move the air conditioner to its final position, maintaining at least 20 inches (51 cm) clearance from the wall.
Step 6: Complete Installation
- Plug the power cord into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
- Press the Reset button on the power cord to ensure the safety plug is providing power to the air conditioner.
