Installation Instructions

Document ID: 125595-EN_GB | Date: 2014-12-19 | Version: A001

This document provides detailed instructions for converting Systemair Topvex Constant Air Volume (CAV) units to Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems.

Contents

1 Hardware Installation

All Topvex CAV units are equipped with pressure transmitters PTS (Pressure Transmitter Supply) and PTE (Pressure Transmitter Extract). These are wired to the same terminals for external connections within the electrical cabinet.

PTE is connected to terminals G, 40, and 41.

PTS is connected to terminals G, 40, and 42.

The terminals in the unit correspond to the following terminals in the actual pressure transmitters (refer to the unit's wiring diagram/chart for specifics):

PTE Connections:

PTS Connections:

If the PTE and PTS wiring are not used for any other purpose, disconnect them from terminals G, 40, and 41-42. Insulate the wires and secure them within the cable channel.

Connect the cables from the newly added duct-mounted pressure transmitters (VAV) to the same terminals.

Set the working range for the pressure transmitters. This is configured using two dip switches on the transmitter's circuit board. Consult the transmitter manual or Section 2.1 for details.

2 Software Adjustment for Topvex Unit (Corrigo)

Log on to the Administrator level using the password 3333.

Menu Navigation:

Sensor Setting:

Configure the adjusted working range for the VAV pressure transmitters within the menu: Configuration/Sensor setting.

Adjust the actual pressure range for the Supply Air Fan (SAF) and Extract Air Fan (EAF) at 10.0 V. The filter factor should not be changed.

Example: If a pressure transmitter is set for 0...300 Pa, configure the settings as: 0.0 V: 0.0 Pa and 10.0 V: 300.0 Pa.

Pressure Transmitter Range Settings
Setting SAF Pressure EAF Pressure
0.0 V 0.0 Pa 0.0 Pa
10.0 V XXX.X Pa XXX.X Pa
Filter Factor (Do not change) (Do not change)

Fan Control:

Set the fan control type in the menu: Configuration/Fan control. Change the fan control from "Flow control" to "Pressure control".

Fan Control Menu Options
Menu Level 1 Menu Level 2 Menu Level 3
Manual/Auto Sensor settings Fan control
Settings Control function Pressure control ↓
Configuration Fan control
Access rights Extra sequence Y4

Air Control Setpoint:

Adjust the new Pressure ctrl SAF and Pressure ctrl EAF set points.

Air Control Setpoints
Setting Pressure ctrl SAF Pressure ctrl EAF
Actual 0 Pa 0 Pa
Setp 0 Pa 0 Pa
Setp 1/1 200 Pa 200 Pa
Setp 1/2 100 Pa 100 Pa

2.1 Wiring VAV

This section details the wiring connections for VAV integration.

PTE Wiring:

PTS Wiring:

The diagram illustrates these connections to the PTE and PTS units.

Pressure Transmitter Working Range Settings
Working Range SW1 SW2 Pressure Range
Working range 1 ON OFF 0...300 Pa
Working range 2 OFF ON 0...500 Pa
Working range 3 OFF OFF 0...1000 Pa

3 Pressure Transmitters

Pressure transmitters must be mounted in the supply and extract air ducts (as shown in Figure 1) and connected according to Table 2.

3.1 Topvex Installation Diagram

Figure 1 illustrates the VAV installation, showing air handling units and duct connections. The diagram indicates air flow directions: upward arrows for supply/outdoor air, downward arrows for exhaust/extract air.
