DANGER Electric shock caused by high voltages inside!

Within the unit, there are areas where high voltages may be present. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove any covers unless the AC mains power cord is removed. Covers should be removed by qualified service personnel only. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

Always use proper ready-made insulated mains cabling (power cord) with a protective contact plug. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. Failure to do so could result in electric shock/death or fire. If in doubt, seek advice from a registered electrician.

Ensure that the input voltage (AC outlet) matches the voltage rating of the product. Failure to do so could result in damage to the product and possibly the user. Unplug the unit before electrical storms occur and when unused for long periods of time.

CAUTION Pinching hazard

Be careful, the sliding key cover may pinch your fingers. Do not insert a finger or hand into any gaps on the sliding key cover or instrument.

WARNING Hearing damage

Using the instrument or headphones for a long period of time at a high or uncomfortable volume level can cause permanent hearing loss. Use the piano and headphones at a moderate volume level.

Notice Damage to equipment!

When the top cover is closed, you can put any objects on it. To avoid falling objects, be careful where you place monitors, a laptop, speakers, or other devices on the piano.

Main Features

The Thomann DP-S 307 UP offers a range of advanced features:

Control Panel

To access the control panel, open the top cover of the Thomann DP-S 307 UP. The panel is located inside the cabinet. The left-hand and right-hand sides are shown separately for clarity.

1. MASTER VOLUME slider: Adjusts the volume for output, headphones, and connectors.

2. FX SOURCE: Selects the source for effects (MIC input, LINE input, SOUND input). SOUND is preselected by default.

3. FX TYPE: Selects internal effects like REVERB, CHORUS, and ECHO. REVERB is preselected by default.

4. FX DEPTH: Controls the amount of effect mixed in (HIGH, MID, LOW). LOW is preselected by default.

5. SOUNDS: Press to select a sound (Single Mode). Hold one button while pressing another to mix two sounds (Layer Mode), where the first sound is 30% louder.

6. DEMO FUNCTION: Pressing both FUNCTION and INT. SOUND OFF buttons simultaneously starts sound demos. Pressing a flashing sound button replays its demo. Press FUNCTION or INT. SOUND OFF to stop.

7. DEMO INT. SOUND OFF: Switches off the internal sound completely, including headphone output.

8. POWER switch: Turns the unit on/off. Connect the AC power cord on the rear panel first.

9. Wireless audio module: Enables connection to a wireless audio device for playing music.

10. Sensitivity: Adjusts the speaker output level individually for the left and right speakers.

Functions

Functions are activated by holding the FUNCTION button and pressing a specific key.

Touch sensitivity

Adjusts how the piano responds to playing dynamics. Select SOFT (B1), MID (C2), HEAVY (D2), or FIX (E2) by holding FUNCTION and pressing the corresponding key. MID is the default setting.

Transpose

Shifts the entire keyboard pitch up or down in semitone intervals (up to 12 semitones). Hold FUNCTION and press keys between C3 and C5 to transpose. Press FUNCTION + C4 to return to the original pitch.

Layer mode

Adjusts the volume of the second instrument when playing in layer mode. Hold FUNCTION and press DOWN [-] or UP [+] keys. To decrease the second instrument's volume, hold FUNCTION and press E5.

Microphone level

Controls the microphone input level. Hold FUNCTION and press C6 to decrease or E6 to increase the level. Requires a high-impedance microphone.

Wireless Audio Setup

The module includes:

Charging the wireless audio module

The module has a non-removable rechargeable battery. Fully charge it before first use by connecting the adapter to the jack and a power outlet. The indicator light turns red when charging.

Pairing with your wireless device

To enter pairing mode, slide the power switch while pressing and holding the specified buttons (refer to diagram for exact buttons, typically power and a pairing button). The indicator light will flash blue, red, and purple. If it's the first time powering on, it enters pairing mode automatically. Search and connect via your Bluetooth device's user guide (Bluetooth PIN: 0000).

Note: After pairing, press specific buttons (e.g., [▶️] or [⏸️]) to reconnect via different profiles.

The connection to external MIDI devices

What is MIDI? MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is an international standard for connecting and transferring data between electronic musical instruments, computers, and other devices.

What can you do with MIDI? Use the DP-S 307 UP to control other instruments, be controlled by them, or use a sequencer to create complex music. MIDI signals can be transmitted to other instruments or recorded by a sequencer.

Connections: Connect the MIDI OUT of a transmitting device to the MIDI IN of a receiving device. To connect to a computer, you need a MIDI interface, sequencing/notation software, and two MIDI cables.

Connection to a Computer

The Thomann DP-S 307 UP features an onboard MIDI and audio interface, allowing connection to a computer without special interfaces. After connecting, you can utilize both audio and MIDI functions.

Connections

Connect the Thomann DP-S 307 UP to your computer via USB. Connect the provided USB cable (Type B) to the DP-S 307 UP and the other end (Type A) to a USB port on your computer.

Driver software installation

Visit www.asio4all.com to download the latest ASIO universal driver. Double-click the downloaded installer file, click "Next", and follow the on-screen instructions. This installation makes the DP-S 307 UP ASIO- and MIDI-compliant.

How to Adjust Audio Settings

Windows

Configure sound and audio default devices via the system control panel. Refer to Windows operating instructions for specific details. After setup, you can play the DP-S 307 UP while listening to audio files via Windows Media Player for practice.

Mac OS

Connection is simple. Your Macintosh computer should automatically detect the DP-S 307 UP. Configure it via "Audio MIDI setup" (found in Applications\Utilities). The DP-S 307 UP is compatible with Mac OSX's Core Audio drivers.

Connection to external audio equipment

Connect the DP-S 307 UP's LINE outputs to external audio equipment like power amplifiers, studio monitors, recorders, or Hi-Fi systems to listen to its sound. You can also record its sound using an external audio recorder. An audio player can be connected to the DP-S 307 UP to play music through its speakers, or its sounds can be recorded from a computer's audio player.
