Main Unit Components
- 1 Air outlet grille: Located at the top of the unit for air discharge.

- Transport the unit in a vertical position; if not possible, secure it at an angle, not horizontally.
- Drain the unit before transporting. Wait at least 6 hours before switching on after transportation.
- Packaging materials can be recycled.
- The appliance has a safety device that prevents the compressor from switching on again for at least 3 minutes after it switches off.

Preparing for Use
Electrical Connections
Before plugging into the mains socket, check:
- The outlet's power supply matches the rating label on the appliance.
- The outlet and electrical circuit are adequate for the appliance.
- The outlet is a 3-hole grounded outlet. If not, choose another outlet.
Failure to follow these safety instructions absolves the manufacturer of liability. The power cable must be replaced by a qualified professional only.
Ensure air intake and outlet grilles are unobstructed before operation.
Air-Conditioning Without Installation
Sash Window Installation
To install without permanent fixtures:
- Open the window.
- Place the window bracket (15) in the window, extending it to fit the window width (see figure C).
- Position the air conditioner near the window. Insert the assembled exhaust hose (12) into the window bracket hole (15).
- Ensure the air exhaust hose is unobstructed.
- For large windows, use the additional window bracket (16) to extend coverage. Secure it with the locking pin. Be careful not to cover the bracket's hole when joining pieces.
- Screw the window outlet (17) to the other end of the exhaust hose (see figure B).
Other Set-up Methods
The window bracket can be used for sliding windows by positioning the hole to allow correct exhaust hose installation (see figure D).
Keep air hoses as short and free of curves as possible to avoid constrictions.
French Window Installation
After attaching the window outlet (17) to the exhaust hose (12), slightly open the French window and position the window outlet as shown in figure E.
Semi-Permanent Installation
For a more permanent setup, a hole can be made in an outside wall or window pane (refer to figures F and G for dimensions: Ø 134mm / 5.28 in.).
- Drill a hole of the specified diameter.
- Respect the height and dimensions indicated in figures F and G.
- Fit the wall flange (11) into the hole.
- Screw the hose adaptor (13) to the hose's end (12).
- Fit the air exhaust hose into the housing at the back of the appliance (as shown in figure A).
- Screw the wall mounting accessory (14) into the hose (12) (fig. H), then fit it into the wall flange (11) (fig. I).
NOTE: As special tools are required, professional installation is recommended.
Ensure the air conditioner is on a level floor.
NOTE: When installing semi-permanently, leave a door slightly open (approx. 1 cm) for ventilation.
Control Panel Overview
Description of Control Panel Buttons and Lights
- A ON/OFF button: Powers the unit on or off.
- B MODE selection button: Cycles through Air conditioning, Dehumidifying, Fan, and Heating modes.
- C Fan speed selection button: Selects fan speed (MAX/MED/MIN).
- D Timer button: Sets programmed operation start or stop times.
- E Programmed operation increase temperature/time button: Increases temperature or timer settings.
- F Programmed operation decrease temperature/time button: Decreases temperature or timer settings.
- G Display: Shows set temperature and programmed operating time.
- H Timer in operation indicator light: Illuminates when the timer is active.
- I/L/M Fan speed lights: Indicate the selected fan speed.
- N Fan/Heat mode light: Indicates Fan or Heating mode.
- O Air-conditioning mode light: Indicates Air-conditioning mode.
- P Dehumidifying mode light: Indicates Dehumidifying mode.
- Q Alarm light: Illuminates for alarms or errors.
- R Remote control receiver: Receives signals from the remote control.
- S Light: Indicates the inner temperature is shown on the display.
- T Light: Indicates the outdoor temperature is shown on the display.
Never turn the air conditioner off by unplugging from the outlet. Always press the ON/OFF button (A), then wait a few minutes before unplugging to allow the unit to complete its cycle checks.
Operation Modes
Turning the Appliance On
Before plugging in, ensure caps on the drainage hose (10) are correctly inserted and screwed.
Plug into an outlet. The display will show two lines, indicating stand-by mode. Press the ON/STAND-BY button (A). The unit will start in the mode it was last used.
Press the MODE button (B) to select the desired mode:
- Air-conditioning mode: Light (O) illuminates.
- Dehumidifying mode: Light (P) illuminates.
- Fan/Heating mode: Light (N) illuminates (color may change from yellow to red).
Air Conditioning Mode
Ideal for hot, humid weather. The display shows the inner temperature (light S on).
- Adjust the temperature using buttons E (+) or F (-). Light T turns on, S turns off. (Press E and F simultaneously for a few seconds to switch between °F and °C).
- After 15 seconds, the inner temperature is displayed (light S on). Temperature can only be adjusted in this mode.
- Select fan speed by pressing button C until the desired speed light (I, L, or M) illuminates:
- MAX: Maximum airflow for rapid cooling.
- MED: Reduces noise while maintaining comfort.
- MIN: For silent operation.
Recommended summer room temperature: 75°F to 81°F (24°C to 27°C). Avoid setting the temperature much lower than the outdoor temperature.
Dehumidifying Mode
Ideal for reducing humidity in spring/autumn or damp rooms. Light (P) comes on, and the MIN fan speed light (M) is active. Other fan speeds cannot be selected.
Fan Mode
Adjust fan speed using button C as in Air Conditioning mode. Higher speeds filter more air; MIN speed filters less but is quieter.
Heating Mode
Suitable for mild spring/autumn weather. The air hose must be attached.
- Press MODE button (B) until light (N) appears.
- Select the target temperature using buttons E (+) or F (-).
Programming the Timer
The timer can delay appliance start-up or shut-down to optimize energy use.
How to Programme Delayed Start Up
- Plug in the appliance, press ON/OFF (A), and select the desired mode and settings.
- Press ON/OFF (A) again to put the appliance in standby.
- Press the timer button (D); the timer light (H) will flash.
- Use buttons E (+) or F (-) to set the delay hours (1-hour increments, up to 24 hours).
- Light (H) flashes until the appliance starts. To cancel, press timer button (D) again.
How to Programme Delayed Shut Down
This can be programmed in any mode (Air conditioning, Fan, Dehumidifying).
- Press the timer button (D); the timer light (H) will flash.
- Use buttons E (+) or F (-) to set the delay hours for shut-down (1-hour increments).
- Light (H) flashes until the appliance turns off. To cancel, press timer button (D) again.
Using the Remote Control
Models with Remote Control
- Point the remote control at the receiver on the air conditioner.
- Maximum range is 16.4 ft (5 meters) without obstacles.
- Handle the remote control with care; avoid dropping or exposing it to direct sunlight or heat.
- Replace the cover after use.
Description of the Remote Control
- 19 ON/OFF button: Powers the unit on/off.
- 20 Increase/Decrease button: Adjusts temperature or programmed time.
- 21 MODE button: Selects operating mode.
- 22 TIMER button: Sets timer functions.
- 23 °F/°C scale button: Switches between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
- 24 Fan speed selection button: Selects fan speed (MAX/MED/MIN).
Inserting or Replacing Batteries
- Remove the cover on the rear of the remote control.
- Remove old batteries.
- Insert two new 1.5V AAA batteries correctly.
- Replace the cover.
If the remote control is discarded, remove and dispose of batteries according to legislation. Do not mix old/new or different battery types. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Regulatory Information
This equipment complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and Canadian ICES-003. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If it causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, try measures like reorienting the antenna, increasing separation, or consulting a dealer/technician. Operation is subject to the conditions that it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any received interference.
Turning the Appliance On (with Remote)
Plug the appliance into the mains. Press the ON/OFF button (19) on the remote. Press the MODE button (21) to select the required mode (Cooling, Dehumidifying, Fan Only, Heating). The corresponding indicator light will come on.
Tips and Cleaning
General Recommendations
- Close windows and doors in the room being air-conditioned for best results.
- Leave a slight draught if the unit is installed through a wall for ventilation.
- Partially close curtains/blinds to protect the room from direct sun and improve efficiency.
- Do not rest objects on the air conditioner.
- Do not obstruct air intake (6) or outlet (1) grilles.
- Ensure there are no heat sources in the room.
- Make sure the air conditioner is on a level floor.
- Never use the appliance in very damp rooms or outdoors.
Cleaning the Cabinet
Clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth, then dry with a dry cloth. Never wash the unit with water. Do not use petrol, alcohol, solvents, or insecticide sprays.
Cleaning the Air Filters
Clean the dust filter every week of operation for efficiency.
- Remove the filter from the intake grille (as shown in figure L).
- Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
- If very dirty, wash in warm water (not hotter than 40°C), rinse, and let dry completely before replacing.
Start of Season Checks
Ensure the power cable and plug are undamaged and the earth system is efficient. Follow installation instructions precisely.
End of Season Operations
- Drain all water from the circuit: remove the external cap (anticlockwise), then the internal cap from the drain hose, and allow water to drain into a basin (figure M). Replace caps when empty.
- Clean the filter and dry thoroughly before storage.
Troubleshooting
NOTE: NEVER TRANSPORT OR TURN THE APPLIANCE UPSIDE DOWN OR ON ITS SIDE. If this occurs, wait 6 hours (24 hours recommended) before turning it on to allow oil to return to the compressor.

Self-Diagnosis
The appliance has a self-diagnosis system. Error messages are displayed on the appliance display:
- IF...IS DISPLAYED: LO ...MEANS: Room temperature is too low.
- IF...IS DISPLAYED: HI ...MEANS: Room temperature is too high.
- IF...IS DISPLAYED: EI ...MEANS: "Probe Failure" (sensor damaged) - contact your local customer service.

Transport, filling, cleaning, recovery, and disposal of refrigerant must be performed by a technical service center appointed by the manufacturer. Dispose of the appliance through a specialist center appointed by the manufacturer.
Safety Plug
The appliance is fitted with a safety plug to protect the power cable.
- If power is cut off, unplug and check the power cable. If damaged, call the service center.
- If power cuts off frequently and the cable is undamaged, contact a qualified electrician.
Operation of the Safety Plug
- If the safety device trips, check the power cable and plug are undamaged.
- To restore operation, press the "RESET" button.
- To verify correct operation, periodically press the "TEST" button. If the appliance does not disconnect, contact the service center.
Electrical Connections and Grounding
This appliance is equipped with a 3-prong grounded plug. It must be connected to a properly installed and grounded outlet according to local codes. Do not modify the plug. If it does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician or relocate the unit.
If your home's electrical supply does not meet specifications or you are unsure about grounding, have a qualified electrician or your local electrical utility company check and correct any problems.
Limited Warranty
Limited Warranty
De'Longhi is the distributor of Kenwood home appliances. This warranty applies to all home appliances with De'Longhi or Kenwood brand names.
De'Longhi warrants each AIR CONDITIONER to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the purchase date, covering free parts and labor. An additional four (4) years of warranty covers any part of the sealed system (compressor, evaporator, condenser, refrigerant tubing). Labor and other parts during this additional period are the owner's responsibility. All repairs are shipped to an authorized De'Longhi service center at the owner's expense; De'Longhi covers return shipping costs. After five years, all expenses (parts, labor, shipping) are the owner's responsibility.
This warranty applies only if the AIR CONDITIONER is used according to factory directions and on an AC circuit. It is in lieu of all other warranties. De'Longhi does not authorize others to assume liability. The warranty does not apply to units repaired/altered outside the factory or subjected to misuse, negligence, or accidents.
