This document provides step-by-step assembly instructions for the KALLAX insert with 2 drawers, manufactured by IKEA.

Assembly Steps

Step 1

Prepare the base panel. Insert dowels (101345) into the designated holes on the base panel. Attach side panels to the base panel, aligning holes with dowels. Secure using screws (110519).

Step 2

Insert cam lock screws (118331) into the pre-drilled holes on the side panels. Ensure they are screwed in straight.

Step 3

Attach the remaining side panels to the base panel. Insert dowels (101345) into the base panel and align the side panels. Push down to connect.

Step 4

Secure the side panels to the base using cam lock fittings (119030). Insert the fittings into the larger holes on the side panels and turn them to lock onto the cam lock screws.

Step 5

Attach the back panel. Slide the back panel into the grooves on the side and base panels.

Step 6

Attach the top panel. Place the top panel onto the assembled sides, aligning it correctly. Secure it by turning the cam lock fittings (119030) from the inside of the unit.

Step 7

Reinforce the structure by inserting screws (110519) into the designated holes on the top and sides of the unit.

Step 8

Assemble the drawer box. Attach drawer side rails (123801, 123802) to the drawer sides using screws (100365) and cam lock screws (118331). Attach the drawer front to the drawer box using screws (100412).

Step 9

Attach drawer runner components (106266) to the drawer sides. Attach drawer front fittings (107091) to the drawer front.

Step 10

Attach brackets/supports (123482) to the inside of the main unit. Ensure correct orientation. [Illustration shows correct placement of bracket 123482.]

Step 11

Step 12

Insert the assembled drawer into the KALLAX unit. Align the drawer runners with the corresponding tracks in the unit and slide the drawer in.

Step 13

Attach the drawer fronts. Align the drawer front with the drawer box and secure it using screws (124386). Ensure the front is straight and flush.
