Pairing Your Cell Phone to the Amana PTAC Unit with Bluetooth
This guide outlines the steps to connect your smartphone to an Amana PTAC unit using Bluetooth and the Amana PTAC mobile application.
Step 1: Download and Install the Amana PTAC App
Download and install the Amana PTAC app from the Google Play Store (for Android devices) or the Apple App Store (for iOS devices).

Step 2: Enable Bluetooth and Grant Permissions
Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your cell phone. Grant the Amana PTAC app the necessary permissions to use Bluetooth functionality.

Step 3: Access the Splash Pad Cover
Remove the inside front cover of the Amana PTAC unit to access the splash pad cover.

Step 4: Remove the Splash Pad
Using a 1/4 inch nut driver or a slotted head screwdriver, remove the three screws securing the splash pad cover. Then, remove the splash pad from the Amana PTAC unit.

Step 5: Initiate Bluetooth Pairing Mode
Press and release the red pairing button located on the Amana PTAC unit's internal board. Do not hold the button down. This action will put the unit into Bluetooth pairing mode. A blue LED light will flash quickly to confirm this status.

Step 6: Connect via the Amana PTAC App
Open the Amana PTAC app on your cell phone. From the main menu, press the "PTAC Connect" button.

Step 7: Search for the PTAC Unit
Press the red magnifying glass icon ? (search button) within the app to find the Amana PTAC unit that is in pairing mode.

Step 8: Confirm and Connect
The app will locate the Amana PTAC unit in Bluetooth pairing mode. Verify that the serial number displayed in the app matches the serial number on the Amana PTAC unit. Once confirmed, press the red "CONNECT" button.

Step 9: Access the Dashboard
After successfully pairing with the correct PTAC unit, the app will display the dashboard. From this dashboard, you can monitor, control, access, configure, and diagnose the Amana PTAC unit using the various options and menus available.

Pairing a DS01(x) Wireless Thermostat or DD01(x) Eden EMS Device
This section details how to pair Amana wireless thermostats (DS01(x)) and Eden EMS devices (DD01(x)) with your Amana PTAC unit using the Amana PTAC app.
Step 1: Pair Your Cell Phone (Prerequisite)
Ensure your cell phone is paired to the Amana PTAC unit following the Bluetooth pairing steps outlined previously. Once paired, access the dashboard menu within the Amana PTAC app.

Step 2: Navigate to Bindings
From the "PTAC Setup Options" menu in the app, select "Bindings".

Step 3: Prepare the Thermostat
Remove the mounting plate from the Amana DS01(x) thermostat. Insert two (2) AA batteries into the thermostat.

Step 4: Initiate RF Pairing
On the app's "Bindings" screen, click the "Bind" button. This action places the Amana PTAC unit into RF pairing mode, ready to connect with a DS01(x) thermostat or a DD01(x) Eden energy management device.

Step 5: Activate Thermostat Pairing
Press and release the white pairing button located on the back of the DS01(x) thermostat.

Step 6: Confirm Thermostat Linking
When the DS01(x) thermostat successfully pairs with the Amana PTAC unit, the status on the app's "Binding" page will change from "Binding" to "Linked". The device will then be listed on the Bindings page. The "Tamper" indicator on the thermostat will disappear once it is placed back on its mounting plate.

Step 7: Prepare the DigiDoor EMS Device (if applicable)
If you need to pair an Eden EMS DigiDoor device (DD01(x)) to the Amana PTAC unit, proceed with the following steps. Remove the DD01(x) device from its mounting plate.

Step 8: Activate DD01(x) Pairing
Check the status on the app's "Bindings" page.
- If the status still says "Status: Binding" and there is time remaining on the countdown timer, simply press and release the white pairing button on the back of the DD01(x) device.
- If the status does not say "Binding" (e.g., it's already linked or timed out), click the "Bind" button in the app again, and then press and release the white pairing button on the back of the DD01E device.

Step 9: Confirm DD01(x) Linking
When the DD01(x) EMS device successfully pairs to the Amana PTAC unit, the status on the app's "Bindings" page will change to "Linked", and the device will be listed. Similar to the thermostat, the "Tamper" indicator on the DD01E EMS device will disappear once it is placed back on its mounting plate.

Final Steps
Once pairing is confirmed for either the DS01(x) thermostat or the DD01(x) EMS device, place them back onto their respective mounting plate(s). Finally, reinstall the splash pad and replace the Amana PTAC unit's inside front cover.
