Metos Novocold Mini Dispenser

Installation and User Manual

Purpose of Use

The Novocold Mini dispenser is designed for professional use in dispensing coffee milk, coffee cream, and other food beverages. It is engineered to accommodate one or two 3-liter bag-in-box (BIB) bags.

? Note: This device is not intended for liquid cooling or long-term storage.

Reception

Upon receiving the unit, carefully examine it for any signs of damage incurred during transportation. If damage is found, it must be noted on the delivery document and reported immediately to the carrier and the retailer.

? Note: The manufacturer's guarantee does not cover damages caused by transportation.

Introduction

Before initial use, thoroughly clean the device with a mild detergent, such as dishwashing detergent. Refer to the "Cleaning" section for detailed instructions.

Drip Tray Installation:

Install the drip tray assembly. Place the grill plate on top of the drip tray, ensuring the guide pins in the front corners of the tray pass through the openings in the grill plate (as indicated by 'A' in diagrams).

Push the drip tray assembly into the appliance as far as it will go. Only the perforation of the grill plate should be visible from the drip tray. The drip tray cannot be installed incorrectly.

? Note: The drip tray and grill plate can be washed in a dishwasher. Wash them at the end of each serving session.

Installation

Ensure the surrounding air temperature is between +16°C and +25°C. The device's climate class is 3 (+25°C / 60% relative humidity).

Remove all protective films from the exterior surfaces of the unit. Install the device on a horizontal and hard surface, ensuring the foot sleeves at the corners are firmly attached to the table surface.

? Note: This dispenser must not be used outdoors or exposed to rain.

Air Circulation:

Maintain unobstructed air circulation at the front and back of the device. The unit draws condensing air from the front and expels it from the rear. Leave at least 5 cm of space between the appliance and the wall.

Ensure a clearance of at least 25 cm above the appliance to allow for lid removal and BIB bag installation.

Diagram Description: Diagrams illustrate the required clearances around the unit, showing a 50mm gap from the wall and 250mm clearance above.

Using the Device

The internal temperature of the appliance cannot be adjusted steplessly.

Connect the power cord to an earthed 230V / 50Hz wall socket protected by a 10A fuse. Verify the approved voltage and frequency on the rating plate. Avoid using extension cords.

The rear of the unit features two switches:

  • Switch A: Press the left switch to position 1 to start the cooling system and the condenser fan (A1). With one fan, the internal temperature will be below +6°C when the ambient temperature is below +25°C.
  • Switch B: If the ambient temperature rises above +25°C (e.g., during summer), activate the auxiliary condenser fan (B1) using switch B. This will lower the appliance's internal temperature. With both fans operating, the internal temperature will be below +6°C when the ambient temperature is above +25°C.

Diagram Description: An image shows the rear of the unit with two switches labeled 'A' and 'B', and two fans labeled 'Puhallin B1' and 'Puhallin A1'.

The rating plate, located on the right side of the rear wall, provides the model name (NOVOCOLD MINI), manufacturer (HUTEK OY, FINLAND), voltage, wattage (110W), and climate class (Climate Class 3). The first part of the manufacturing number indicates the year and week of production (e.g., 2022 week 1).

? Note: Switch on the appliance approximately one hour before serving. Only place pre-chilled beverage packaging into the appliance.

? Note: Switch off and clean the appliance at the end of each operating cycle. Transfer refill bags to cold storage.

BIB Bag Installation

Lift the device cover straight up to detach it from its holders. The front edge has a small lifting handle (A), and the rear edge has a wide lifting surface and a locking ball latch (B).

Carefully lower the pre-cooled BIB bag into the tank's U-slot. Ensure the largest collar of the tap is positioned behind the aluminum plate inside the tank (C). The outer collar of the tap should rest on the outside of the black front panel (D).

Close the lid tightly, ensuring the BIB bag is not pinched between the lid.

To remove the BIB bag tap seal (E), turn the seal clockwise around the tap. Once removed, the tap is ready for use.

? Note: If using only one BIB bag, insert the cap (F) into the unused tap opening to prevent the tank from warming up. Insert the cap in the same manner as the BIB bag tap.

Diagram Description: Images illustrate the process of lifting the cover, installing the BIB bag into the tank, and securing the tap. Another image shows a cap being inserted into an empty tap opening.

Cleaning

Clean up any spills immediately.

Move BIB bags to a cold storage area before cleaning the appliance.

Always switch off the device before cleaning.

? Note: The device lid is not suitable for washing; wipe it clean only.

Remove the device lid and the drip tray with its grill. The drip tray and grill are dishwasher safe.

Wash the stainless steel surfaces of the cabinet using a mild, water-soluble detergent, such as dishwasher detergent or another suitable food-safe cleaning product. Use a soft cloth or paper towel to avoid scratching the steel surface.

Wipe down with a damp cloth and allow the cabinet to air dry with the door open.

? Note: Do not use detergents containing chlorine (e.g., bleach), solvents, scouring products, knives, or other sharp objects.

? Note: Never use running water or a pressure washer to clean the device.

? Note: Consult the disinfectant's product description to confirm material compatibility. After disinfection, dry the equipment thoroughly and allow it to ventilate.

Condenser Fan Cleaning:

Gently clean the appliance's condenser fans, for example, using a vacuum cleaner's brush nozzle. To facilitate fan cleaning, carefully tilt the empty unit onto its back. It is recommended to clean the fans every 6 months.

? Note: If a BIB bag breaks inside the appliance, unplug the unit, tilt it onto its back, drain all liquid from the tank compartment, and clean the entire unit thoroughly. Allow the device to dry completely before reuse.

Diagram Description: An image shows the rear of the unit with fans, suggesting cleaning access.

Operation Failures

If the cabinet fails to cool:

  • Ensure the appliance is switched on and the condenser fan is running.
  • Check that the condenser's air circulation is not blocked.
  • Verify that the ambient temperature is not too high.

If the ambient temperature rises above +25°C during summer, start the auxiliary condenser fan.

If the machinery makes a strange sound:

  • Check that the fan is not damaged.

If the malfunction cannot be resolved by checking the above points, move the products to an alternative cold storage, switch off the empty device, unplug the power cord, and contact an authorized service center.

Disposal of the Equipment

When the equipment is no longer in use, it must not be disposed of with regular household waste. This is because the equipment falls under the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive. It must be disposed of in accordance with WEEE regulations.
