Introduction
The Viltrox DC-X2 is a 6-inch professional photography monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. It is designed for use with interchangeable-lens digital cameras or digital HD camcorders, providing real-time display of high-definition signals via HDMI. Precautions for Use
- Carefully read this user manual and your camera's user manual.
- Use compatible batteries or power adapters.
- Do not place heavy objects on the screen to avoid unevenness.
- Keep the device away from liquids; it is not waterproof, splash-proof, or dust-proof.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or high temperatures to prevent deformation or malfunction.
- Do not place the device in areas with excessive vibration to prevent damage.
- Avoid areas with strong electromagnetic fields to prevent malfunctions.
- Do not place the device in sandy areas to prevent dust ingress and malfunctions.
- Do not dispose of the device with general waste.
- The top, vents, and metal parts may become hot after prolonged use; handle with care.
- In cold environments, horizontal lines or residual images may appear on the screen; this is not a malfunction and will resolve as the monitor warms up.
- When using on an airplane, comply with regulations during takeoff and landing.
Cleaning
- Remove the battery before cleaning.
- The screen surface is specially treated to reduce reflections. Improper maintenance may degrade performance.
- Gently wipe the screen or casing with a soft, dry cloth (e.g., cleaning cloth or glass cleaning cloth).
- Use a neutral detergent to remove stubborn stains.
- Do not use organic solvents such as thinner or alcohol to clean the device, as this may damage the casing and screen.
- Do not wipe the casing with rough cloth to avoid scratching the surface.
- Prolonged contact between the casing and rubber or vinyl resin products may damage or peel the surface coating.

Installing Battery and Adapter Mount
Installing the Battery
This product supports rechargeable lithium batteries. Compatible battery models include NP-F550/F570/F750/F770/F960/F970 series.
- Gently press the battery inward in the indicated direction and slide it to the right (do not release). A click sound indicates it is secured.
- To remove the battery, press and hold the battery release button, slide the battery to the left, and then remove it. Be careful not to drop the battery.
Installing the Adapter Mount
- Select the adapter mount orientation based on the shape of your camera's hot shoe (①).
- Align the 1/4 screw of the adapter mount with the 1/4 screw hole on the monitor (②).
- Lock the turntable of the adapter mount (③).
- To use the adapter mount:
- a. Fully insert the base of the adapter mount into the universal hot shoe seat in the direction shown.
- b. Lock the turntable of the adapter mount to secure it to the camera. Use a hex wrench to tighten the adapter mount at this port position.
Note: If using a camera with a pop-up built-in flash, ensure the camera's built-in flash is turned off. If the camera has an auto-flash function, disable it. Remove the monitor from the camera before using the flash.
Connecting the High-Definition Signal Cable
- Connect the monitor to your camera using the included HDMI high-definition signal cable. If the cable is too short, purchase a longer one separately.
- Turn on the power for both the camera and the monitor. The image from the camera's viewfinder will be displayed on the monitor's screen. If your camera has an HDMI output setting, set it to AUTO or 16:9.
Note: When connecting the monitor to a camera via HDMI, depending on the camera, the image may only display on the monitor's screen, with no image shown on the camera's screen.
Tip: If the screen displays 'No Signal' after a period, check if the camera is outputting a signal or if the HDMI cable is disconnected.
Sun Hood
To install the sun hood:
- Place the monitor onto the two base supports of the sun hood and gently snap it upwards.
- To remove the sun hood, pull the two top supports outwards.
To open and close the sun hood as shown in the diagram:
- Press the button once, and the sun hood will automatically open.
Touch Screen Operation
- Menu: Double-tap the screen to bring up menu options. Tap on a blank area to exit the menu.
- Volume Adjustment: Slide up or down on the left side of the screen.
- Backlight Adjustment: Slide up or down on the right side of the screen.
- Zoom In/Out: Use two fingers to pinch in or out on the screen to zoom in and view details. After zooming, a box will appear. To exit zoom mode, tap the screen again to make the box disappear.
Note: While zoomed in, you cannot access the menu by double-tapping. Wait for the zoom box to disappear, then double-tap to access the menu.
Operation
Power On
Press and hold the Power Button (⑥) for 3 seconds. The indicator light will turn green, and the screen will light up.
Note: Indicator light is green when there is a signal, and red when there is no signal.
Power Off
Press the Power Button (⑥) once. The screen will display "Operation Reminder". Select "Confirm" to power off. The indicator light and screen will turn off.

Troubleshooting

Firmware Update
- Download the latest firmware from www.viltrox.com.cn.
- Unzip the firmware and save it to a USB flash drive.
- Turn on the monitor and insert the USB drive into the USB port.
- Navigate to Menu: System Settings (⚙️) → System → Firmware Update → Confirm. The update interface will appear automatically.
- Wait for the progress bar to complete. The system will automatically shut down upon completion.
- Press the power button to restart. Wait for the progress bar to load, and the logo to appear. Firmware update is complete.
Note: Use a USB drive formatted as FAT32 for the update.
