Option Jumpers

Power Supplies

Jumper Setting Description
J10 Unit Power Source¹ EXT: External (Module IO Pin F1)
REG: Onboard Regulator (default)
J11 VCCIO Voltage Selection² 3.3V: 3.3-volt VCCIO
5.0V: 5.0-volt VCCIO (default)
J12 Regulator Bypass¹ BYP: Onboard Regulator is bypassed
REG: Onboard Regulator is not bypassed (default)
J13 Unit Regulator Enable/Disable DIS: Onboard Regulator is disabled
ENA: Onboard Regulator is enabled (default)

Reference Input Driver

Jumper Setting Description
J20 Input Load Select FLT: Floating / high-impedance input load
50: 50-ohm input load (5v maximum) (default)
J21 AC/DC Termination AC: AC Input Termination
DC: DC Input Termination (default)
J22 Input Driver Bypass³,⁴ STR: Reference input is driven by the onboard driver circuit
BYP: Reference input is connected directly to the ref input SMA.
(None): Reference input is disconnected

HCMOS RF Output

Jumper Setting Description
J39 Sine/Square Select SINE: RF output is routed through a 10MHz sine wave converter
SQUARE: HCMOS RF output is routed directly to the RF Out SMA

[Notice] (1) If the onboard regulator is bypassed (via J12 or J10) the user must supply a voltage within the unit's specified operating voltage range. To minimize noise, the onboard regulator should be disabled when bypassed (J13).

[Notice] (2) The VCCIO selection must match the VCCIO specification of the attached unit. Using a 3.3v VCCIO supply with 5.0V VCCIO unit may result in unpredictable behavior and damage to the evaluation board. Using a 5.0v VCCIO supply with a 3.3v VCCIO unit may damage the unit.

[Notice] (3) On units with a single external reference input channel, the input reference driver must be bypassed if the user wishes to connect directly to the unit's J7 Reference Input port.

[Notice] (4) When the reference input driver is bypassed and the reference input port is connected directly to the input SMA (J22 set to BYP), the J20 Load Select should be in the FLT or Not Connected position, as the unit has internal loading already present.
