Precautions

Please observe the following precautions for safe and optimal operation:

  • Do not disassemble the unit.
  • Avoid exposure to water or moisture.
  • Avoid operating in excessively high temperatures.
  • Professional installation is recommended for optimal performance and safety.
  • Ensure proper power connections.

Audio Playback Modes

USB Playback

Connect a USB flash drive to the unit for direct music playback. The DSP automatically switches to USB playback when a drive is inserted. Users can navigate to the player interface via the mobile app or PC software to control playback.

Mobile Phone OTG Music Playback

Utilize the OTG (On-The-Go) function to transmit mobile phone music to the DSP in high-fidelity digital format. This allows the DSP to perform hard decoding for lossless audio quality. A mobile phone OTG cable is required. Select [OTG] as the audio source within the mobile app.

Bluetooth Music Playback

Pair your mobile phone via Bluetooth to stream music wirelessly. First-time use requires pairing: turn on Bluetooth on your phone, search for "FDSK630A", and select it to pair. Once paired, the DSP will automatically switch to Bluetooth mode when playing music. Alternatively, select [Bluetooth/Devices] from the audio source menu.

External Device Playback (via FDS05B)

Connect the FDS05B accessory to the EXTERNAL DEVICE port. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone and search for "FDS05B" to pair. The FDS05B supports Qualcomm Bluetooth chip with APTX HD and LDAC high-definition Bluetooth lossless music. Note that when the FDS05B is connected, the original unit's built-in Bluetooth music playback will be disabled.

Mobile Phone App Operation

The Nakamichi mobile app provides comprehensive control over the FOSKA3DA. Key functions include:

  • Main Interface: Displays connection status (e.g., Bluetooth connected) and allows selection of the main audio source.
  • Audio Source Selection: Choose between USB, OTG, Bluetooth, and other available sources.
  • Tuning Controls: Adjust main volume, subwoofer volume, treble, bass, mid-range, and channel gain.
  • Output Channel Settings: Configure speaker types, phase, and gain for each channel.
  • EQ Settings: Fine-tune audio with high and low pass filters, slopes, Q value adjustments, and EQ curve modifications.
  • Delay Settings: Adjust audio delay for each channel in milliseconds (ms), centimeters (cm), or inches (inch).
  • Mixing Interface: Configure audio mixing between different sources.
  • Preset Management: Save and load tuning presets.
  • Other Functions: Mute, volume adjustments, and potentially firmware updates.

The app interface displays various controls such as volume sliders, EQ bands, and selection menus for different parameters.

PC Tuning Software

The FOSKA3DA can also be controlled and tuned using dedicated PC software for more advanced adjustments.

PC Tuning Software Download

Solution 1 (Mobile Download): Scan a QR code provided in the manual or on the Nakamichi website to access the download page. Select the FDSK series and choose PC download. Transfer the downloaded file to your computer.

Solution 2 (PC Download): Visit the official Nakamichi car audio website (nakamichicaraudio.com). Navigate to ENQUIRIES > Downloads > DSP Software Download. Select the FDSK series and download the PC software.

PC Tuning Software Installation

Double-click the downloaded executable file (e.g., PC-FDSK.exe) and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation. It is recommended to turn off anti-virus software during download and installation. After installation, connect the PC to the DSP using a tuning data cable.

Basic Operations of Computer Tuning

The PC software offers functions such as:

  • Restore Factory Settings: Resets all configurations to default values.
  • Firmware Upgrade: Update the device's firmware.
