Keyless Entry
The button on the transmitter can be used to unlock the vehicle's doors while running under control of the remote start. Simply press and hold the transmitter button for 3 seconds as you approach the vehicle, and the doors will unlock.
Note: Vehicle must have power door locks, and this option must be connected at time of installation.
Remote Car Finder
The Start button also accesses the car finder mode, useful in crowded parking lots. To use, press and hold the transmitter button for three seconds while within range. The parking lights will flash for 30 seconds to make the vehicle more visible. To turn off early, press and release the transmitter button once.
Remote Starting the Vehicle
The unit will not start if the hood is open, the gear shift is not in Park, the brake pedal is depressed, or the safety control switch is off.
To start: Press and release the Start button twice within 2 seconds. The vehicle starts and runs for up to 60 minutes. Parking lights indicate status.
To disengage: Turn the ignition key to ON (not start position), then step on the brake pedal. The vehicle continues running on its own power.
Note: The engine may stop early if the Key/Trunk button is pressed twice, the brake pedal is depressed, the hood is opened, or the unit is placed in safety override mode.
Push Button LED Receiver Valet/Override/Safety Control Switch
This switch allows temporary disabling of the remote starting function for servicing.
To place in service mode: With system disarmed/unlocked and ignition off, press and hold the Push Button on the receiver. Cycle the ignition switch ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON-OFF. The LED will flash a specific pattern indicating service mode.
To exit service mode: With system disarmed, press and hold the Push Button on the receiver. Cycle the ignition switch ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON-OFF. The LED will turn off.
Note: The LED can be toggled on/off. To toggle, turn ignition ON then OFF, then press and hold the receiver's push-button switch for 5 seconds. LED flashes once for ON, twice for OFF.
Programmed Transmitter Notification (PTN)
After disarming and turning the ignition ON, the unit's LED reports the number of programmed transmitters. This alerts to unauthorized transmitters. Typically, 2 flashes indicate two transmitters. Additional flashes suggest unauthorized additions. The manual suggests consulting the transmitter programming guide to correct this.
