Wi-Fi® Connection Guide
Introduction
This guide explains how to wirelessly stream music from an iOS device, an Android™ device, or a Mac/PC to the SC-PMX9's speakers. For this feature, the SC-PMX9 must join the same 2.4 GHz wireless network as your compatible device via the wireless network router (access point).
For information on wired LAN connection, refer to "Wired LAN connection" in the Owner's Manual.
Start Wireless Network Settings
Preparation
- Place the SC-PMX9 as close to the wireless network router as possible and point the antenna on the rear of the main unit up. Do not tilt the antenna forward or backward.
- Connect the AC power supply cord. Ensure the LAN cable is disconnected.
- Turn the system on.
- Follow the chart below to choose the network setting method. For advanced settings or Mac/PC wireless setup, refer to "Method 4" in the Owner's Manual.
Does your wireless network router support WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup™)?
Yes: Proceed to Method 1.
No / Do not know: Proceed to Method 2 or 3.
Are you using an iPod touch/iPhone/iPad? Is the iOS version 5.0 or later?
Yes: Proceed to Method 2 or 3.
No: Proceed to Method 3.
Method 1 (WPS Push)
- Press [SETUP] on the remote control repeatedly to select "Net Setup" and press [OK]. "With iPod" is indicated.
- Press [SETUP] on the remote control repeatedly to select "WPS Push" and press [OK]. "WPS" flashes.
- Press the WPS button on the wireless network router.
- The settings are completed when "Success" is displayed and "W" is indicated on the display.
Method 2 (Connecting via Lightning Connector)
- Disconnect any iPod/iPhone/iPad connected to the main unit.
- Connect your iPhone to your home wireless network.
- Connect your iPhone to the main unit using a Lightning connector compatible cable.
- Press [SETUP] on the remote control repeatedly to select "Net Setup" and press [OK]. "With iPod" is indicated.
- Unlock your iPhone and press [OK] on the remote control.
- Allow the iPhone to share its wireless network settings when prompted.
- The settings are completed when "Success" is displayed and "W" is indicated on the display.
- Press [OK] on the remote control to exit.
Method 3 (Manual Setup using App)
You can use the "Panasonic Stereo System Network Setup" app (free) for wireless network settings.
Preparation: Connect your smartphone to your home wireless network and check its password.
- Press [SETUP] on the remote control repeatedly to select "Net Setup" and press [OK]. "With iPod" is indicated.
- Press [SETUP] on the remote control repeatedly to select "Manual" and press [OK].
- Start the "Panasonic Stereo System Network Setup" app on your smartphone and follow the instructions.
- Note for iOS version: After step 3, enter the password for your home wireless network. If a message instructing you to connect the iOS device to this system is displayed, press the home button.
- When a message indicating the completion of the connection is displayed, restart the app.
- Press [OK] on the remote control to exit.
Using AirPlay
The following explanations are based on an iPhone.
- Connect your iPhone to your home wireless network.
- Select "Panasonic PMX9" from the AirPlay icon and start playback.
Note: You may be prompted for the password. Enter your home wireless network name (SSID) and password.
