QUICK START GUIDE

The AirPlay function allows you to stream music wirelessly from an iOS device, such as an iPhone or iPod touch, to the speakers of the SC-HC57. To use the AirPlay function, the SC-HC57 must join the same wireless network as the iOS device through the wireless network router (access point).

Setting up SC-HC57

Set up the SC-HC57 by following the method that suits you best.

Is your wireless network router WPS compatible?

Yes - Supports WPS*1 (Push Button Configuration)

*1: WPS: Wi-Fi Protected Setup™

I don't know / Doesn't support WPS / METHOD 1 didn't work*2

*2: Turn SC-HC57 off before proceeding to METHOD 2.

METHOD 1: WPS Setup

  1. Turn on SC-HC57 and then activate the WPS push button setup mode. Press and hold the [open/close] button until "CONNECT" starts flashing. [red light]
  2. Press the WPS button on the wireless network router to establish the connection. [router manual reference] [blue light blinking]
  3. Press [OK] on the remote control to complete the setting. [blue light]

METHOD 2: Manual Network Setup

Connect your iOS device to SC-HC57

  1. Turn on SC-HC57 and then activate the network setup mode. [red light] Press repeatedly to select "NET SETUP".
  2. Connect your iOS device to SC-HC57's setup network. Open [Settings] > [Wi-Fi]. Turn on Wi-Fi. Select the setup network (e.g., "Setup _ _ _ _ _ _").

Enter your home wireless network details

  1. Display SC-HC57's network setting page. Open [Safari] and type the address bar: "192.168.1.12".
  2. Select your home wireless network (SSID). Look for "Network name (SSID)".
  3. Enter your home wireless network password. Look for "Password". Type in the password and press [NEXT].
  4. Apply your home wireless network details to establish the connection. Press [JOIN].

Complete the settings

  1. Press [OK] on the remote control to complete the setting. [blue light]

(Note: On devices other than an iPhone, close the tab/window before closing the Internet browser.)

Using AirPlay

The following explanations are based on an iPhone.

Preparation: Make sure SC-HC57 is turned on. [red light]

  1. Connect your iOS device to your home wireless network. Open [Settings] > [Wi-Fi]. Turn on Wi-Fi. Select your home wireless network name (SSID)*4. You may be prompted for the password. Enter the password of your home wireless network.
  2. Select "Panasonic HC57 _ _ _ _ _ _" from the AirPlay icon [AirPlay icon] and start play. [Music]

Play starts (with a slight delay).

I have a new iOS device (iPhone/iPod touch/iPad), do I need to reset SC-HC57?

No, you only have to connect the new iOS device to the same home wireless network. (Refer to "Using AirPlay")

My wireless network router is WPS push button compatible but SC-HC57 does not light blue with "METHOD 1".

The security setting may be set to WEP. Try using "METHOD 2".

Can I change the display name for SC-HC57 (e.g., HC57_Bedroom)?

Yes, refer to the Owner's Manual "Network settings", under "AirPlay".
