Safety Instructions and Warnings
General Safety:
- Installation must be performed by skilled and qualified installers in accordance with the instructions and local regulations.
- Do not use the hood if the power supply cable or other components are damaged.
- Do not modify the electrical, mechanical, or functional structure of the equipment.
- Do not attempt personal repairs; incompetent interventions can cause serious damage or harm.
- Use the unit only as intended by the manufacturer.
- Before servicing or cleaning, switch off the power at the service panel and lock it.
- For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.
Installer Safety:
- Before installation, check the integrity and function of each part. Contact the dealer if anomalies are noted.
- Do NOT install the hood if an aesthetic defect is detected.
- Use personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes) during installation.
- The installation kit (screws and plugs) is for masonry walls only. Assess other options for different wall materials.
- Do not install the hood outdoors or expose it to atmospheric elements.
- Check and retighten all set screws before installation.
- Install only with remote blowers or integral blowers manufactured by FALMEC S.p.A.
Electrical Safety:
- Installation must comply with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, and local codes. Ensure power is off before installation.
- The electrical system must be compliant with local standards, supplied with an earthed connection, and comply with European standards regarding radio antistatic properties.
- Grounding Instructions: The appliance must be grounded. Plug into a properly installed and grounded outlet. Consult a qualified electrician if grounding instructions are unclear.
- Do not use an extension cord.
Fumes Discharge Safety:
- Do not connect to discharge pipes of fumes produced from combustion (e.g., boilers, fireplaces).
- Ensure compliance with all standards for air discharge outside the room.
- Vent exhaust air outside; do not vent into spaces within walls, ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, or garages.
- Use only metal ductwork.
User Warnings:
- Read the entire booklet carefully before using or cleaning the equipment.
- The manufacturer is not responsible for damages resulting from failure to comply with safety warnings.
- Keep this manual with the equipment for future reference.
- If selling or transferring the equipment, include this manual.
- Clean stainless steel hoods after installation to remove residues from protective film and any grease/oil stains.
- Use original spare parts.
- California Proposition 65 Warning: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Intended Use:
- Solely intended for extracting fumes from cooking in non-professional domestic kitchens. Any other use is improper and may cause damage.
- Can be used by children over 8 and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instructions on safe use and understand the dangers.
- Children are not to play with the equipment. User cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
Range Top Grease Fire Prevention:
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings.
- Always turn the hood ON when cooking at high heat or flambeing food.
- Clean ventilating fans frequently; do not allow grease to accumulate.
- Use proper pan size and cookware.
- In case of grease fire: Smother flames with a lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off the burner. Do not use water. Evacuate and call the fire department if flames do not extinguish immediately. Never grab a flaming pan.
Installation
General:
- Installation is intended for qualified personnel only.
- Read the 'SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS' chapter before installation.
- The minimum mounting height from the cooking surface to the hood bottom is indicated in the installation instructions (Dimension 'A'). Consult appliance manufacturer's recommendations and local codes.
Technical Features:
- Technical specifications are on labels inside the hood.
- Electrical Connection: Ensure power is off. Connection must comply with local laws and standards.
Mounting Height (Dimension A):
- Recommended range: 24" - 35" (610 mm - 890 mm) for optimal performance.
- Do not exceed 35" (890mm) as it may be difficult to reach and reduce performance.
- Mounting below the minimum recommended height could result in damage from heat and pose a fire hazard, voiding the warranty.
Tools Required:

Assembly Steps:
- Step 1: Hood fastening, check valve installation, and suction pipe assembly.
- Step 2: (Diagram shows filter installation)

- Step 4: Flue assembly (refer to diagrams for specific steps).
- Step 5: Chimney assembly (refer to diagrams for specific steps).

SRS System Setting:
- The SRS system reduces the maximum airflow rate to comply with local building regulations.
- To set maximum speed (e.g., 3 speeds): Press and hold the '+' key for 5 seconds. All keys flash. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the '+' key for another 5 seconds. If all keys light up steadily, the setting is successful. (Refer to Fig. 1 for specific model settings).
Operation
When to Turn On the Hood:
- Turn on the hood at least one minute before cooking to direct fumes and vapors.
- Leave the hood operating after cooking until all vapors and odors are extracted. The Timer function allows for automatic shut-off after 15 minutes.
Speed Selection:
- I Speed: Low electricity consumption for air circulation.
- II Speed: Normal use.
- III Speed: For strong odors and vapors.
- IV Speed: Rapid disposal of odors and vapors.
Filter Maintenance:
- Metal filters: Clean every 30 hours of operation.
- Active carbon filters (optional): Replace every 3-4 months, depending on use.
Control Panel Operation (Mechanical):
- OFF Button: Turns the motor off.
- Button 1: Starts or sets the motor to minimum speed.
- Button 2: Starts or sets the motor to medium speed.
- Button 3: Starts or sets the motor to maximum speed.
- Light On/Off: Short press turns the light on/off.
- Timer: Red LED flashing indicates auto shut-off after 15 minutes.
Control Panel Operation (Electronic):
- Motor ON/OFF: '+' button.
- Increase Speed: Press '+' repeatedly. Speeds are indicated by LEDs on the keys.
- Decrease Speed: Press '-' repeatedly.
- Light On/Off: Short press turns the light on/off.
- Timer: Red LED flashing indicates auto shut-off after 15 minutes.
Maximum Speed Setting (SRS Enabled/Disabled):
- Refer to diagrams for setting maximum speeds (e.g., Fig. 1, Fig. 2).
Maintenance
General:
- Before cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the power.
- Do not use abrasive, acidic, or corrosive detergents or rough cloths.
- Regular maintenance ensures proper operation.
- Pay special attention to metal anti-grease filters; frequent cleaning prevents grease accumulation.
Cleaning External Surfaces:
- Clean external surfaces at least every 15 days. Use recommended cleaning wipes or a damp cloth with mild detergent or denatured alcohol. Rinse and dry with soft cloths.
- Avoid excessive water near the control panel and lighting to prevent moisture from reaching electronic parts.
- Clean glass panels with specific non-corrosive/non-abrasive detergents and a soft cloth.
Cleaning Internal Surfaces:
- Do not clean electrical parts or motor parts with liquids or solvents.
Metal Anti-Grease Filters:
- Wash frequently (at least monthly) by soaking in hot water and detergent for about 1 hour. Avoid bending.
- Do not use corrosive detergents. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembly.
- Dishwasher washing is permitted but may cause darkening of the filter material. Use low-temperature washes (max 131°F / 55°C).
- Refer to assembly instructions for filter extraction and insertion.
Active Carbon Filters:
- These filters retain odors and are recycled into the environment.
- Replace approximately every 3-4 months under normal use.
- Refer to assembly instructions for replacement.
Lighting
The range hood is equipped with high-efficiency, low-consumption LED spotlights with a long lifespan. Refer to diagrams for replacement.
Disposal After End of Useful Life
The crossed-out trash bin symbol indicates WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Do not dispose of with regular unsorted waste. Dispose of separately for proper processing, reuse, or recycling. Contact local authorities for information on designated waste collection points.
For disposal in non-European Union countries, contact local authorities or the dealer for correct disposal methods.
