TUISS Roll Up Blinds Installation Guide
BLINDS ONLINE, MADE SIMPLE
Tools Required
- 1 x drill with assorted drill bits
- 1 x Phillips screwdriver
- 1 x pen / pencil
- 1 x hammer (optional)
No specialist knowledge or DIY experience is required to fit our blinds, but note that certain parts of this process are much easier if you have another person with you to help you install.
Installing the Hooks
The hooks can be installed in 2 different ways: top-fixed into the lintel of the recess, or face-fixed into the wall. Top-fixing is recommended if you're fitting the blind inside the recess. If you are fitting the blind onto the wall above the recess, then you will face-fix the hooks.
Start by marking out the positions for the hooks. An easy way to do this is to use the blind as a guide. Hold the blind in the position you'd like to fit it and use your pen or pencil to make a mark through each of the hangers on the top bar.
Twist a hook into the wall at each of the marks. You can do this by hand, although it will be easier if you tap them in a little with a hammer first.
Installing and Operating the Blind
Installing the blind is as easy as lifting it up and hooking the hangers onto your hooks.
Operating the Blind
Using the blind is just as easy as installing it. A simple mechanism grips the cord to lock the blind in position when raised.
- Unlock: Pull the cord to the left.
- Raise / Lower: Pull or release the cord straight up or down.
- Lock: When the blind is at the desired height, pull the cord to the right and release it to engage the lock.
Child Safety
The blind is provided with a safety cleat to wrap the lift cord around when the blind is not in use, especially when the blind is raised.
The top of the blind must be installed at a height of at least 150cm from the floor.
The safety cleat should be installed on the wall as close to the top of the blind as you can comfortably reach.
WARNING: Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes and inner cords that operate the product. To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep cords out of the reach of young children. Cords may become wrapped around a child's neck. Move beds, cots and furniture away from window covering cords. Do not tie cords together. Make sure cords do not twist and create a loop.
Hold the cleat in position and mark the screw holes with a pencil. Use the screws provided to secure the cleat against the wall.
