The keyboard features a standard QWERTY layout with additional media and function keys. It is powered by two AAA batteries.

Function and Media Control Keys

The keyboard includes several key categories:

• A. Media Control Functions: Dedicated keys for media playback control.
• B. Application Functions: Keys for launching specific applications.
• C. Interface Functions: Keys related to system interface operations.
• D. Fn Keys: The Fn key toggles between standard function keys (F1-F12) and media modes. By default, media keys are active.
• E. Risers: Adjustable legs on the underside of the keyboard to change the tilt angle.
• F. Battery compartment and dongle storage: Located on the underside of the keyboard.
• G. Power Button: Located on the underside of the keyboard for turning the device on and off.

Note: The dongle is inserted in the extender cable on delivery. Pull the tab from the battery compartment to turn on the keyboard for the first time.

Start Using Your Keyboard

1. Pull the tab from the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard.
2. Insert the extender cable with the dongle into your computer's USB port.

If the connection is lost, refer to page 6 for pairing instructions.

Keyboard Tilt

The adjustable legs on the Balance Keyboard offer three tilt options:

• Positive tilt
• Neutral tilt
• Negative tilt

Keyboard Shortcuts - Power Button

The power button turns the Balance Keyboard ON/OFF. When powering ON, the LEDs on the left side flash from bottom to top. When powering OFF, the LEDs flash from top to bottom. Pressing keys will not power ON the keyboard when it is OFF; only the power button can turn it ON.

Keyboard Shortcuts - PC Mode & Mac Mode

The Balance Keyboard defaults to PC mode. To switch between Mac and PC mode, press and hold the "Start/Option" key, then press the power button located on the underside of the keyboard.

• Mac mode: LEDs flash from bottom to top.
• PC mode: LEDs flash from top to bottom.

Keyboard Shortcuts - Pairing Mode

Ctrl + Power buttons initiates pairing mode and clears existing dongle connections. The Balance Keyboard comes with a pre-paired dongle. If the keyboard and dongle become unpaired, follow these instructions:

1. Remove the extender cable from the computer and insert it into the USB port again.
2. Hold Control and press Power once to pair the keyboard and dongle.

Note: Hold the Power button as close to the wireless receiver as possible during pairing.

Keyboard Shortcuts - Function

Fn + Power buttons toggles between function mode (F1-F12) and media mode. By default, the Balance Keyboard is set to function mode OFF. To activate function mode, press the Fn key. To change the default setting to function mode ON, press and hold Fn, then press the Power button once.

Warranty: If there is a functional defect due to faulty manufacturing, Contour Design will replace the product. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse of the product. Attempting to dismantle the product will invalidate the warranty.
