1. SAFETY
1.1. General safety notes.
The operator is responsible for ensuring the machine is operated safely and in accordance with this manual. Keep the manual safe and pass it on if the machine is loaned or sold.
The machine should never be left in a condition that allows untrained or unauthorized persons to operate it. Exercise due care for the safety of others around you while using the machine.
Warning Signs and Symbols: Adhere to all warning signs and symbols. Failure to do so may result in personal injury.
- DANGER: Indicates a hazard that could result in serious injury or death if not avoided.
- WARNING: Indicates a hazard that could result in serious injury if not avoided.
- CAUTION: Indicates a hazard that might result in minor or moderate injury if not avoided.
- NOTE: Indicates a situation that could easily result in equipment damage.
Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when the machine is in use or being repaired.
1.2. Carbon monoxide.
Carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas. Inhaling it can cause death or serious long-term health problems like brain damage. Symptoms include headaches, dizziness, nausea, and breathlessness.
DO NOT use Petrol/Diesel-powered equipment inside homes, garages, tents, camper vans, caravans, or boats. If in doubt, contact your dealer.
If you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning:
- Get to fresh air immediately. Turn off the machine if safe to do so.
- Call emergency services. Do not enter a suspected area.
- Contact a doctor immediately and inform them of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
DO NOT use in an enclosed area or a moving vehicle.
1.3. General fuel safety.
CAUTION: ALL FUELS ARE FLAMMABLE
- Keep fuel away from all sources of ignition (heaters, lamps, sparks).
- DO NOT carry out hot work on fuel tanks.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy.
- Clean up spills promptly using absorbent materials and dispose of waste correctly.
1.4. Fuelling/De-fuelling.
CAUTION: ALL FUELS ARE FLAMMABLE
- ALWAYS fuel and defuel in a well-ventilated area outside of buildings.
- Wear appropriate PPE, such as safety gloves and overalls.
- Avoid inhaling fumes when fuelling/de-fuelling.
- Use a proprietary fuel retriever for de-fuelling.
- Carry fuel in the correct and clearly marked container.
1.5. Electrical safety.
Electricity can kill. NEVER work on LIVE/ENERGISED equipment.
- Identify electrical isolation methods and isolate all electrical supplies before maintenance.
- Before use, check all electrical cables, plugs, and connections for damage (bare wires, chaffing, cuts, loose wiring).
- If damage is found, the item must be taken out of service until repaired by an electrically competent person.
- Route trailing cables to prevent trip hazards.
- NEVER work on or near electricity with wet hands, clothing, or gloves.
1.6. Batteries.
Corrosive
Batteries can leak electrolyte, which is an acid causing serious burns. Handle with care.
- If electrolyte contacts skin, remove contaminated clothing, wash with water, and seek medical assistance. Advise medical staff of the acid type (lead/acid = sulphuric acid; nickel/cadmium = potassium hydroxide).
- If electrolyte contacts eyes, wash immediately with large amounts of water and seek medical assistance.
- Gases from charging batteries are highly flammable; charge in well-ventilated areas.
- Avoid short-circuiting battery terminals, as this can cause an explosion. Use insulated tools.
1.7. Vibrations.
Prolonged exposure to vibrations can lead to conditions like white finger (Raynaud's phenomenon) or carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Wear gloves and keep hands warm.
- Take regular breaks.
- Observe the condition of your hands and fingers. Seek medical attention if symptoms occur.
1.8. Noise.
The operating noise can damage hearing. Wear hearing protection (earplugs or ear defenders).
- Be aware that hearing protection reduces your ability to hear alarm warnings.
- Limit noisy work to approved times and periods.
- Advise people working nearby to wear hearing protection.
Refer to the CERTIFICATE of CONFORMITY for Outdoor Noise declaration.
1.9. Additional safety instructions.
- Carry out inspection before starting each time.
- Keep the generator at least 1 meter from other objects and combustible materials to prevent fires.
- Keep children and animals away from the running generator.
- Ensure all operators are fully trained in safe use and operation.
- Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the machine shut down.
- DO NOT overfill the fuel tank.
- Ensure the fuel cap is screwed tightly.
- Clean up any fuel spillages before starting the generator.
- Ensure no naked flames, cigarettes, or sparks are present where refueling occurs or fuel is stored.
- Operate the unit on level, stable ground. Lock the wheels to prevent movement.
- The exhaust and engine become very hot during and after use. Avoid touching them while hot. Allow to cool before storage to prevent fire hazards.
2. CHECKS BEFORE USE

NOTE: Running the engine with no oil will cause damage not covered under warranty.
- Check the oil level before each use.
- Open the left-hand access door (viewed from the control panel) to access the oil filler cap and dipstick.
- Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, then remove and check the level. The oil mark should be between the lower and upper levels. Top up if low, but DO NOT overfill. Wipe up any excess oil.
- The machine holds 2.25 litres of oil.
2.2. Fuel.
This machine uses Diesel fuel only.
WARNING: Stop the machine and allow it to cool before refueling. Refuel in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources.
- Check that the fuel level is sufficient for the required duration of use.
- A fuel level gauge is fitted to the fuel tank base.
- Open the right-hand door (viewed from the control panel) to access the fuel gauge and fuel cap.
- Unscrew the fuel filler cap and fill or top up with fresh diesel.
- DO NOT overfill. Fill to the level indicated. Clean up any spillages before starting.
- The machine holds 60 litres of diesel fuel.
2.3. Battery.
Corrosive
WARNING: Batteries can leak electrolyte, which is an acid causing serious burns. Handle with care.
- Check that the battery is fully secured and connections are tight.
- To access the battery, remove the cover under the main control panel by undoing six retaining bolts.
- The battery should be secured by an anchor bar and two long retaining bolts.
- The Red wire connects to the positive terminal, and the Black wire to the negative terminal.
