Vollrath Induction Template Installation Instructions
The Vollrath induction templates are manufactured to the highest standards. To maximize the life and beauty of these surfaces, read and follow all the instructions provided.
- The Vollrath induction template must only be installed by qualified service or installation personnel.
- These induction templates should only be used with Vollrath drop-in induction cookers and warmers. The top of the induction unit must be in contact with the bottom of the induction template for proper operation.
- Measure the induction template, induction unit, and countertop prior to installation to verify the template will fit.
- Apply food-grade silicone between the induction template and the countertop around the entire edge. This will help the template stay in place and reduce liquid from entering the induction unit.
Installation of Vollrath Induction Templates
The strategy or method you choose may differ from the one listed below. Figure 1 shows the method currently used to install an induction template to a Vollrath Buffet Table. Figure 2 shows another method which can be used. (Note: All clips, clamps and fastening hardware shown is customer provided.)
Figure 1. Current Vollrath Induction Buffet Table Mounting.
This diagram illustrates a mounting method for a Vollrath induction template on a buffet table.
- [A] Vollrath induction template: Shown as a flat surface placed on top of the countertop.
- [B] Countertop or tabletop: The horizontal surface receiving the template.
- [C] Vollrath drop-in induction unit: Depicted below the countertop, with its top edge aligned with the template's surface.
- [D] Clamp: A wood clamp is illustrated, positioned to grip the underside of the countertop and the edge of the template.
- [E] Fastener: A screw or bolt used with the clamp to secure the assembly.
Diagram shows template [A] on countertop [B], with induction unit [C] below. Clamps [D] and fasteners [E] secure the template from underneath the countertop.
Figure 2. Possible Mounting Suggestion.
This diagram presents an alternative mounting suggestion for the induction template.
- [A] Vollrath induction template: Positioned on the countertop surface.
- [B] Countertop or tabletop: The surface for mounting.
- [C] Vollrath drop-in induction unit: Located beneath the countertop, aligned with the template.
- [D] Clamp: A metal clamp, commonly used for mounting under cabinet sinks, is shown. It attaches to the underside of the countertop.
- [E] Fastener: A screw or bolt that passes through the clamp and countertop.
- [F] Nut: Used to secure the fastener.
- [G] Washer: Placed between the fastener head/nut and the clamp/countertop for better distribution of pressure.
Diagram shows template [A] on countertop [B], with induction unit [C] below. Clamps [D], fasteners [E], nuts [F], and washers [G] are used for mounting, securing the template to the underside of the countertop.
General Installation Requirements
- A minimum of four clamps must be used with two-hob templates, and a minimum of eight clamps must be evenly used with four-hob induction templates. All clamps must be evenly spaced.
- All clearance and air circulation requirements for the induction unit(s) must be maintained. Refer to the unit's operator's manual specifications for details.
- Drawer, door, and other clearances need to be considered prior to the installation of the Vollrath template and the Vollrath induction unit.
- Due to the variety of installation applications and installation methods, Vollrath is not responsible for damage to the induction template or induction unit during installation or during subsequent use.
