Innovative Index Features

This section highlights advanced features related to the index of the gas meters, focusing on security and accuracy.

Image: Diagrams illustrating innovative index features: a meter with a seal applied from the inside (New Generation Solution for Seal), a representation of index blockade (Applying or not applying decides if the index is disassemblable or non-disassemblable), and a blockade for counting reverse flow.

Innovative Index with Innovative Protection Against Fraud:

  • New Generation Solution for Seal: Stamp from inside.
  • Index Blockade: Option to make the index disassemblable or non-disassemblable.
  • Blockade of Counting Reverse Flow: Prevents reverse flow from being counted.
  • Place for Applying Traditional Seal (Optional).

Mechanical Temperature Compensation

Gas meters UG G1.6 up to UG G4 can be equipped with mechanical temperature compensation (bimetal).

Gas volume changes with temperature due to thermal expansion. This affects the measuring accuracy relative to energy content. For instance, heating gas increases its volume, leading to a higher indicated consumption, while cooling decreases it. This is particularly relevant for meters installed outdoors. Temperature compensation mechanisms adjust the cyclic volume to counteract expansion or contraction, ensuring the gas meter converts measured volume to its value at a fiducial temperature, irrespective of the actual measuring temperature.

Graphs: Showing the error (E [%]) versus temperature (T [°C]) for different flow rate ranges (0.1Qmax ≤ Q ≤ Qmax and Qmin ≤ Q ≤ 0.1Qmax) for meters equipped with mechanical temperature compensation.

Curves of Typical Error and Pressure Loss

Detailed performance curves illustrating typical error and pressure loss characteristics for various gas meter models under different conditions.

Graphs: Displaying typical error (E [%]) and pressure loss (Δp) as a function of flow rate (Q [m³/h]) for different UG series gas meters (UG G1.6, G2.5, G4, 2UG G6, UG G10, UG G16, UG G25). Curves are shown for Air and Natural Gas.
