Important: Improper assembly or installation by unqualified personnel will result in the cancellation of the guarantee, the loss of any right to indemnity, and the expiration of all product liability.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Component Identification

Identify the main components of the Enganches Aragón KAN13B1 trailer wiring kit. Key parts include: Trailer Module (M), Vehicle Connector (A), Wiring Harness (B), Module Connectors (C1, C2, C3), Power Inputs (T1, T2), Fuses (F1, F2, F3), Grounding Cables (G1, G2, G3), and various wire connectors (E1, E2, I, J, K, L, N, P, S, V). Note: This product is [Patent Pending].

Step 2: 13-Pin Socket Connection

Connect the 13-pin socket to the vehicle's wiring harness according to the DIN/ISO 11446 standard. The following table details the pin assignments:

PinDIN/ISO 11446Function (English)
11/LLeft indicator
2Rear fog light
331 (1-8)Earth (1-8)
44/RRight indicator
55/58RRight tail light
66/54Brake light
77/58LLeft tail light
88Reverse light
9+30Permanent current
10+15Contact current
1131 (10)Earth (10)
12--Empty pin
1331 (9)Earth (9)

Step 3: Harness Routing

Route the wiring harness from the rear of the vehicle towards the front. Connect the harness to the vehicle's interior wiring (S, H, L, V) and the trailer socket harness (A) to the trailer module (M). Connect the grounding cables (G1, G2, G3) securely to the vehicle chassis.

Ensure the vehicle's electrical system is 12V, not 24V ⚠️.

Step 4: Trailer Module Connection

Connect the trailer module (M) to the vehicle's wiring harness (C1). Route the wiring harness through the vehicle body, potentially requiring a 32mm hole. Maintain a minimum clearance of 15 cm from heat sources. Connect the module's output connectors (C1, C2, C3) to the corresponding vehicle wiring.

Secure the trailer socket housing using screws (I) and nuts (N).

Step 5: BCM Connection Options

Two options are available for connecting the trailer wiring kit to the vehicle's Body Computer Module (BCM):

Step 6: Alternative BCM Connections

Details on alternative wire color connections for CAN H and CAN L to BCM-A are provided. The kit also supports connecting CAN L (Orange/Brown) and CAN H (Green/Yellow) wires to the BCM using a TE connector, specifying pin positions 2 and 3 respectively.

Step 7: Brake Light Connection

Connect the brake light signal to the vehicle's BCM (C). Connect the brake light wire (STOP signal, typically Black/Red or Red) to the specified pin (Pos. 58) on the BCM connector.

Step 8: K+V Connector and Further BCM Connections

The K+V connector facilitates connections for the STOP signal (Pos. 1, Black/Red + Red wire) and CAN L/H signals (Pos. 2, Orange/Brown wire; Pos. 3, Green/Yellow wire). The kit also allows connecting the trailer module to BCM-A and BCM-C using Scotchlok connectors for CAN H and CAN L signals, specifying wire colors and vehicle pins.

Step 9: Trailer Module Fixation and Protection

Connect the trailer module (M) to the vehicle's wiring harness (C1) at Pos. 4 & 5. Secure the trailer module using the provided adhesive pad (J) inside the vehicle's rear compartment. Warning: Protect the module from water ingress ? [Water droplet symbol with cross] ❌. Ensure proper sealing [Checkmark symbol] ✔️.

Step 10: Fuse Box Connection

Connect the power supply (D) to the vehicle's fuse box. Insert fuses (F1, F2, F3) into the appropriate slots as indicated. The following table lists recommended fuse positions for various vehicle models:

Vehicle ModelFuse Position

Step 11: Grounding and Power

Connect the grounding cables (G1, G2, G3) to the vehicle chassis. Connect the main power input (+30) and ignition-switched power input (+15) to the module.

Activation of trailer functions is not required for this kit. [Cross symbol] ❌.

The kit supports extra functions, such as LED indicators. [Lightbulb + LED symbol] ?.

Step 12: Lighting Check

Perform a lighting check for the trailer using a professional tester (e.g., ATT Professional Tester, Part Nr. ALV0C51) to verify all trailer lights are functioning correctly. [Stopwatch symbol] ⏱️.

Optional: Caravan power supply can be connected via terminals T1 (BN-WH, +30, Pin 9) and T2 (RD, +15, Pin 10) using specific part numbers: KCC0002 for T1 and KCC0000 for T2.
