READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions are provided for your safety. Read them carefully and completely before beginning installation.
Preparation for Installation
Carefully remove all contents from the carton. Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture and mounting bracket. Remove the new mounting bracket assembly. Ensure the threaded post (D) is attached to the mounting bracket (A) with a hex nut (E), and the canopy loop (G) is attached to the other end of the post. Unscrew the canopy loop ring (H) from the canopy loop (G). Adjust the position of the threaded post (D) on the mounting bracket (A) so that the canopy (F) sits flush with the ceiling and covers at least half of the canopy loop (G) threads. Secure the threaded post (D) by tightening the hex nuts (E) on either side of the mounting bracket (A).
Parts Diagram Description:
The diagram shows the following parts labeled A through Q:
- A: Mounting Bracket
- B: Ground Screw
- C: Mounting Screws
- D: Threaded Post
- E: Hex Nut
- F: Canopy
- G: Canopy Loop
- H: Canopy Loop Ring
- I: Chain
- J: Quick-Connect Link
- K: Hanging Ring
- L: Cap
- M: Sleeve
- N: Ring
- O: Center Rod
- P: Tube Group
- Q: Connector
Assembling the Fixture
Adjust the fixture arms to ensure even distribution. Screw the lower end of the center rod (O) into the connector (Q). Slide the tube group (P), ring (N), sleeve (M), and cap (L) over the top of the rod (O). Secure these to the threaded post of the center rod (O) with the hanging ring (K). Measure and determine the required chain links (I) for the desired hanging height. Use pliers to adjust chain length if necessary. Trim fixture wires to the desired length, leaving 8-10 inches extra. Attach a quick-connect link (J) to each end of the chain (I). Use one link (J) to attach the chain (I) to the hanging ring (K) and close securely. Feed the fixture wires up through the chain (approximately every three links), pulling taut. Slide the canopy loop ring (H) and canopy (F) onto the chain/wires, then thread wires through the canopy loop (G). Use the remaining quick-connect link (J) to attach the chain (I) to the canopy loop (G). With assistance to support the fixture's weight, attach the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box using mounting screws (C).
Connecting the Wires
Connect the fixture wires to the power supply wires from the junction box:
- Fixture Black wire to House Black wire (Live)
- Fixture White wire to House White wire (Grounded)
- Fixture Ground wire (Green or Copper) to House Ground wire (Green or Copper)
Twist the ends of wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector. Ensure twists are in the same direction. Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding screw (B) and tighten. If no ground wire is present from the junction box, contact a qualified electrician.
Wiring Diagram Description:
The diagram illustrates wire connections: Black fixture wire to Black house wire (Live), White fixture wire to White house wire (Grounded), and Bare Copper/Green fixture wire to Grounding screw (or House Ground wire).
Finishing the Installation
Place the canopy (F) flush against the ceiling and slide the canopy loop ring (H) underneath. Screw the canopy loop ring (H) onto the canopy loop (G) to secure the canopy (F). Install light bulbs (not included) according to fixture specifications. Do not exceed the recommended wattage. Turn on the power and test the fixture.
Cleaning Tips
Treat the fixture gently. Regular cleaning reduces the need for deep cleaning. For regular cleaning, turn off the light and wipe the fixture with a clean, lint-free cotton or microfiber cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the fixture.
Hunter Pro Tips:
- Use chain pliers to easily open and close chain links for shortening the fixture.
- Twist or tape wire ends together to facilitate passing them through downrods. The threaded post may be removed for easier wire access.
