Compatibility Check and Graphics Card Preparation

Before assembling the cooler, compare your graphics card with the images in the Alphacool configurator at https://www.hwconfig.com. You can also compare the PCB number for definitive identification, as the cooler is designed for a specific PCB layout. Manufacturers may revise card designs, potentially affecting cooler fitment. Ensure taller components have adequate clearance and the cooler does not damage the graphics card during assembly.

Alphacool International GmbH is not liable for assembly errors due to negligence, such as selecting an incompatible cooler.

Prepare Graphics Card

Place the hardware on an antistatic mat. Begin by dismantling the original cooler. Remove screws, carefully unhook the fan connector, and if thermal glue was used, proceed with extreme caution to avoid damaging components. Keep all removed parts. Clean the hardware of thermal paste or pad residues using a solvent like isopropanol alcohol.

Component Placement

Place Thermal Pads on Cooling Block

Refer to the diagrams for the correct placement of thermal pads (A, B, C, D) on the cooling block for the RTX 4080 AMP Trinity.

Mount PCI Bracket

Attach the PCI bracket (E) using screws (F) and nuts (G). Ensure the EVA washer (H) is correctly positioned.

Thermal Interface Application

Apply Thermal Grease

Apply thermal grease to the GPU core using the provided thermal grease tube (I) and applicator tool (J). Follow the numbered steps in the diagram for precise application.

PCB Installation

Install PCB

Carefully place the graphics card PCB onto the cooling block. Secure it using screws (K) and (H). Ensure correct alignment as indicated in the diagrams, noting the numbered screw locations.

Install PCB (Continued)

Continue securing the PCB with screws (K) and (H), following the indicated mounting points.

Place Thermal Pads on PCB Backside

Apply the thermal pads (M, N) to the backside of the PCB as shown in the diagrams. Use the provided tool (O) for precise placement.

Backplate Mounting

Mount Backplate

Attach the backplate to the graphics card assembly using screws (Q). Refer to the diagram for the correct screw placement and order.

ARGB Lighting Connection

Connect ARGB Lighting

Connect the ARGB lighting cable (P) to the motherboard's ARGB header or the Alphacool Eiscontrol unit. Ensure correct polarity and connection as shown in the diagram.

Final Assembly Steps

Screw in Screw Plugs with the Tool

Use the provided plug tool (R) to screw in the remaining screw plugs (Q) to complete the assembly.
