Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard. This appliance is intended for household and similar applications (staff kitchens, farm houses, hotels, motels, B&Bs). Do not immerse the appliance. Surfaces are liable to get hot during use. Do not use the toaster near or below combustible materials like curtains, as bread may burn. Supervise children when near the appliance. Use only on a dry, level surface. Do not use outdoors. Unplug when not in use and before cleaning. Do not use if damaged; seek authorized repair. Regularly check the cord for damage; seek repair if damaged. Keep the cord away from table edges and hot surfaces. Allow the appliance to cool before storage. Do not use harsh cleaners. Allow adequate air space on all sides and keep away from flammable materials. Always use with the crumb tray and clean it regularly. Do not use for sugary products. Watch closely as bread may burn. Do not leave unattended when in use. WARNING: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not use objects to remove jammed toast. Unplug and let the appliance cool before removing toast.

Operation

  1. Plug into a suitable mains socket and turn on.
  2. Place bread into the slots.
  3. Select the browning setting (1-lightest, 7-darkest); try No. 3 initially.
  4. Press down on the carriage control lever to start. Ensure the appliance is plugged in; the lever will not stay down otherwise.
  5. The toast pops up automatically when done. To stop sooner, press the 'Stop' button.

Toasting Frozen Bread

Place frozen bread into slots, select a browning setting, press the lever, then press the 'Frozen' button.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Remove and clean the crumb tray, then dry it thoroughly.
  3. Use a stiff brush for burnt crumbs.
  4. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
  5. Do not use sharp objects or abrasives.
  6. Clean the crumb tray after each use to prevent fire hazards.

First Use

Before first use, boil fresh water at least twice without any additives.

Use

  1. Place the appliance on a flat surface.
  2. Open the kettle by pressing the unlocking button on the handle. Fill with water to the appropriate level using the water indicator. Do not overfill.
  3. Release the unlocking button on the handle to close the lid.
  4. Place the kettle flush on the base.

Electrical Connection

  1. Turn on the kettle using the switch located at the bottom of the handle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water has boiled. Disconnect from the power supply; be cautious when pouring to avoid scalding.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  2. Clean with a slightly damp cloth without additives if necessary.

Descaling

The need for descaling depends on water hardness and appliance usage. If the appliance shuts off before boiling, it likely needs to be descaled. Use a commercially available citric acid-based descaling agent as per instructions. Avoid using vinegar.
