Enclosure Overview

This document provides an outline drawing and specifications for the ASCO 300 Series 2600-3000 Ampere "G" Frame Rear Connected Transfer Switches, Type 1 Enclosure. It details the physical dimensions, internal layout, and essential notes for installation and cabling.

Enclosure Views and Dimensions

Front View

The front view shows the enclosure with its door. Key dimensions are: Width 32.00 inches [813mm], Height 32.44 inches [824mm]. The enclosure features a top and bottom conduit area measuring 24.00 inches by 32.00 inches [610mm x 813mm]. Mounting holes are located at each corner.

Front View (Door Removed)

With the door removed, the internal components are visible. These include a user interface, field connections, a terminal block (TB), and an optional power meter. Connections are clearly labeled for EMERGENCY, LOAD, NORMAL, and CONTROL.

Side Views

The right side view indicates the overall height of 91.00 inches [2311mm] and a depth of 38.00 inches [965mm]. Other side views are also presented for detailed inspection.

Top View

The top view illustrates the enclosure's top surface, highlighting mounting hole positions and conduit entry points.

Back View

The back view shows the rear of the enclosure with its overall dimensions.

General Notes

Type 1 enclosure: Free standing, floor mounted, code gauge formed frame construction.
Door: NEC standard gauge pan type with a lockable handle.
Finish: Standard ANSI 61 Gray polyester powder coating. Other ANSI colors are available upon consultation with the factory. The enclosure is UL recognized.
Construction complies with applicable requirements of UL 1008.
Recommended clearances: 36.00 inches [914mm] for the front.
A 20% rated ground bus is provided.
The unit is designed for combined top and bottom cable entry.
Neutral Configurations: An optional full-rated neutral configuration for each source and the load can be provided, either as a solid copper bus neutral or a switched neutral pole, as specified by the catalog number.
No knockouts are provided.

Cabling Notes

Lugs: Standard mechanical (screw type) lugs are supplied. Lug material is Aluminum Alloy 6061-T6 with electro tin plating. Screw material is Aluminum Alloy 6262-T9 with electro tin plating. Lugs are UL Listed and CSA Certified.
Torque: Lug screw tightening torque is 19 ft-lbs per UL 486B.
Wire Bending Space: Sufficient space is provided for up to twelve (12) 1/0 - 750MCM CU/AL cables per terminal for 2600-3000 Amp sizes.
Ground Lugs: Standard ground lugs are provided, suitable for twelve (12) 1/0 - 750MCM CU/AL cables per phase and neutral. For 2600-3000 Amps, ground lugs are provided for up to twelve (12) 1/0 - 750MCM CU/AL cables per terminal.
