Internal Circuit Diagram

The internal circuit diagram illustrates the connections within the NE1A-SCPU01, showing the flow from DeviceNet (V+, CAN H, DRAIN, CAN L, V-, D+, D-) through a non-insulated DC-DC converter and USB interface to the internal circuit. This circuit then branches to the Safety Input Circuit and an insulated DC-DC converter, which feeds into the Safety Output Circuit and Test Output Circuit. The outputs are connected to various terminals (V0, G0, V1, G1, T0, T3, V2, G2, IN0 to IN15, OUT0 to OUT7).

Terminal nameDescription
V0Power supply terminal for internal circuit. The two V0 terminals are internally connected.
G0Power supply terminal for internal circuit. The two G0 terminals are internally connected.
V1Power supply terminal for external input device and test output.
G1Power supply terminal for external input device and test output.
V2Power supply terminal for external output device.
G2Power supply terminal for external output device.
IN0 to IN15Safety input terminal.
T0 to T3Test output terminal. Connected to IN0 to IN15 safety inputs. Each test output terminal outputs a different test pulse pattern. Terminal T3 also supports a current monitoring function for the output signal. Example: Muting lamp.
OUT0 to OUT7Safety output terminals.

Installation

Wiring Diagram: Emergency Stop Application (Manual Reset)

This diagram illustrates a typical emergency stop application circuit with manual reset. It shows connections from a 24 VDC power supply (E0, E1, E2) to the NE1A-SCPU01's V0 and G0 terminals. An emergency stop switch (S1) with positive opening mechanism is connected to terminals 11 and 12, and a reset switch (S2) is also included. Safety inputs (IN0-IN15) are shown connected, along with test outputs (T0-T3) and safety outputs (OUT0-OUT7). The circuit also includes contactors KM1 and KM2, with KM1-NC and KM2-NC connections, and a motor (M) controlled by KM1 and KM2. The diagram indicates the flow of signals and power within the safety system.

Safety Precautions

⚠️ WARNING

This catalog serves as a guide for customers to select appropriate safety products. When choosing products, selecting the right ones for devices or equipment, and developing a safety-related system to fully utilize product functions, it is crucial to observe the following items.

Setting Up a Risk Assessment System

Products listed in this catalog must be used properly concerning their location, performance, and functionality. The selection and use of these products should involve a risk assessment system early in the design development stage to identify potential dangers in equipment, optimizing safety product selection. A poorly designed risk assessment system can lead to incorrect safety product choices.

Safety Policy

When developing a safety system for devices and equipment using safety products, efforts should be made to understand and conform to all relevant international and industrial standards.

Role of Safety Products

Safety products have functions and mechanisms designed to ensure safety as defined by standards. These functions are intended to achieve their full potential within safety-related systems. Users must fully understand all functions and mechanisms to develop systems that ensure optimal usage.

Installing Safety Products

Properly educated and trained engineers should be selected to develop safety-related systems and install safety products in devices and equipment.

Observing Laws and Regulations

Safety products should conform to pertinent laws, regulations, and standards. Ensure they are used in accordance with the laws, regulations, and standards of the country where the devices and equipment incorporating these products are distributed.

Observing Usage Precautions

Carefully read the specifications and precautions in this catalog and the Operating Manual provided with the product to learn usage procedures that optimize product choice. Any deviation from precautions may lead to unexpected device or equipment failure not anticipated by safety-related systems or fire originating from equipment failure.

Transferring Devices and Equipment

When transferring devices and equipment, ensure one copy of the Operating Manual is kept and another copy is packed with the device or equipment for the recipient's operational convenience.

Application Considerations

OMRON is not responsible for conformity with any standards, codes, or regulations that apply to the combination of products in the customer's application or use of the product.

Upon customer request, OMRON provides applicable third-party certification documents identifying ratings and limitations of use for the products. This information alone is insufficient for a complete determination of product suitability in combination with the end product, machine, system, or other application.

Examples of applications requiring particular attention (not an exhaustive list, nor implying suitability):

Users must know and observe all prohibitions of use applicable to the products.

NEVER USE THE PRODUCTS FOR AN APPLICATION INVOLVING SERIOUS RISK TO LIFE OR PROPERTY WITHOUT ENSURING THAT THE SYSTEM AS A WHOLE HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE RISKS, AND THAT THE OMRON PRODUCT IS PROPERLY RATED AND INSTALLED FOR THE INTENDED USE WITHIN THE OVERALL EQUIPMENT OR SYSTEM.
