Operating Your Griddle
Getting the Best Results (No-Fat Griddle):
The non-stick surface is designed for cooking with natural oils and fats from food. Excess fat is collected in the drip tray, making food healthier. Best results are achieved with foods containing natural fats (meats, fish, burgers) but also suitable for vegetables and sandwiches.
Operating Instructions:
- Before first use or after long periods of non-use, wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth.
- Ensure the drip tray is inserted before setting the temperature.
- CAUTION: Never use without the drip tray. Clean the tray before each use. Do not use if the tray is full.
- For best results, pre-heat the griddle for 3-4 minutes by plugging it in and setting the desired temperature.
- Place food on the pre-heated griddle. Check cooking regularly.
- Remove cooked food carefully with a spatula or plastic/wood utensil suitable for non-stick surfaces.
- Immediately after use, unplug the griddle and allow it to cool sufficiently before cleaning and storage. Always remove and clean the drip tray.
Care and Cleaning
Cleaning Instructions:
- Ensure the griddle is unplugged and cool before cleaning.
- Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as they damage plastic and metal parts.
- The drip tray can be washed in hot soapy water.
- Use a spatula or plastic/wood utensil to scrape off excess food from the heating plate. A damp non-abrasive sponge or paper towel can remove stubborn spots. Dry the non-stick plate thoroughly with a paper towel.
- Clean handles and temperature control with a damp paper towel or soft cloth. Dry thoroughly before reuse.
WARNING:
- ALWAYS ensure the control knob is in the 0 (off) position.
- UNPLUG the griddle from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
- DO NOT immerse the griddle in water or any other liquid.
NOTE: All other servicing should be performed by a qualified service technician.
