Quick Start Guide

Product Overview

The Epomaker EK98 VIA is an 1800 compact, triple-mode, hot-swappable, RGB, VIA-programmable mechanical keyboard.

Keyboard Layout

Connectivity Modes

The keyboard supports three connectivity modes: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired (Type-C).

Pairing Bluetooth

Toggle the side switch to Bluetooth mode.
Hold Fn + Q/W/E for 3-5 seconds until the indicator lights flash red/green/blue.
Turn on your Bluetooth device, search for 'Epomaker EK98-1/2/3', and connect. The indicator light will stop flashing upon successful connection.
Press Fn + Q/W/E to switch between connected Bluetooth devices.

Pairing Wireless 2.4GHz

Toggle the side switch to 2.4G mode. The indicator will flash cyan.
Insert the 2.4G dongle into your device. The indicator will stop flashing upon successful connection.
To reconnect in 2.4G mode, hold Fn + R for 3-5 seconds until the indicator flashes cyan rapidly.

Wired Mode

Toggle the side switch to wired mode for a wired connection.

Battery Check

Hold Fn + Spacebar. The keys from 1! to 0) will light up to show the battery percentage. For example, if keys 1! to 6^ light up, the battery is at 60%; if keys 1! to 0) light up, the battery is at 100%.

Indicator Lights

Low Battery: Fn key blinks red.
Charging: Fn key stays red.
Charged: Fn key lights up with backlight.
Win Lock: Win key lights up.

Using VIA Software

Visit github.com/WestBerryVIA/via-releases/releases to download the latest VIA application. Enable "Use V2 definitions (deprecated)".
Import JSON File:
- For wired mode: Download the Epomaker EK98 wired JSON file from epomaker.com and load it into VIA.
- For 2.4G mode: Download the Epomaker EK98 2.4G JSON file from epomaker.com and load it into VIA.
Once loaded, the "Configure" tab will display the keyboard layout and programmable functions.

If purchased from a distributor, contact them directly. For warranty information, please refer to the Epomaker website. The warranty covers factory defects for one year from the purchase date from official Epomaker stores. It does not cover damage from normal wear and tear or unauthorized modifications.
