Product Overview
Front Interface Description
1. Camera Light: Indicates camera status (no light: off, green: in use, red: privacy cover closed).
2. RCU IR: Receives infrared signals from the remote control.
3. Dial/Answer Button: Opens Duo app for calls or answers calls with one click.
4. Microphone: For Duo app audio calls and far-field voice input.
5. Status Light: Indicates device status.
6. HD Camera: For Google Duo video calls and HD photos/videos.
7. Camera Privacy Cover: Rotate to open (down) or close (up) the camera.
Bottom Interface Description
1. DC IN: DC 5V/2A power input.
2. Tripod Mounting Hole: For tripod installation.
3. Microphone Switch: For privacy, turns the microphone on/off.
4. Speaker: Plays incoming call ringtones when the device is in sleep mode.
5. USB: USB 2.0 OTG & USB 3.0 high-speed interface.
Rear Interface Description
1. HDMI IN: Connects to devices with HDMI output.
2. HDMI OUT: Connects to the TV's HDMI input.
3. LAN: 10/100M wired network interface.
4. Device Bracket: Secures the device on top of a TV.
BT Voice Remote Guide
Insert 2 AAA batteries into the remote control.
Button Functions:
- Power: Power on/off.
- Mute: Mutes audio.
- Navigation (Up, Down, Left, Right): Navigates menus.
- OK: Confirms selection.
- Return: Goes back to the previous screen.
- Google Assistant: Activates Google Assistant.
- Home Page: Quick access to the home screen.
- Volume Up/Down: Adjusts volume.
- Microphone: For voice commands.
- Indicator Light: Shows remote status.
- YouTube Shortcut: Quick access to YouTube.
- Prime Video Shortcut: Quick access to Prime Video.
- Google Play Shortcut: Quick access to Google Play.
Get Started
Connect the Device to Your TV
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the TV's HDMI port and the other end to the MECOOL NOW's HDMI OUT port.
- Plug the power adapter into the DC IN port and then into an A/C power outlet.
- Open the bracket at the bottom, place the device on top of the TV, and adjust the bracket to secure it.
- Turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input source. The remote control pairing screen will appear.
BT Remote Control Pairing
Press and hold the VOL- and OK buttons on the remote control until the indicator light flashes. Pairing is automatic upon successful connection.
Connect to Network
To use online features, connect to the internet. A QR code will be displayed for WiFi connection via your mobile device's camera. Alternatively, if connected via a wired network (LAN), it will automatically proceed to language selection.
Note: For optimal wireless performance, keep the device away from microwave ovens.
Sign in to Your Google Account
Sign in to your Google Account to use Google Assistant and Google Play Store.
Use Google Duo for Video Calls
Google Duo requires a Google Account for use across devices and platforms.
System Settings Function
Change the System Language
Navigate to Settings > Device Preferences > Language to select your preferred system language.
Clear App Data
Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps, select the app, press OK, and choose 'Clear data'.
HDMI Input and Switching
- Unplug your cable/satellite box HDMI cable from the TV and connect it to the MECOOL NOW's HDMI IN port.
- Press the power button on the remote or device to enter standby. The HDMI IN device screen will display automatically.
- To switch back to the MECOOL NOW screen, press the power button again to wake the device.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
TV no signal | 1. Confirm the blue light is on. 2. Wait 1 minute, then press the remote's power button while facing the machine. If the machine turns red after 5 seconds, it's working. Check cable connections and TV source settings. If not, contact the seller. |
WIFI disconnection | 1. Confirm WiFi can be opened; restart if necessary. 2. Restart your router and try connecting again. 3. Use your mobile phone's hotspot to test connection. 4. The device disconnects WiFi when connected to a wired network. |
Unable to use voice function | 1. Confirm Bluetooth remote control pairing in settings. 2. Ensure the device is connected to the network and test with YouTube. 3. Refer to correct voice operation instructions. |
The remote control does not respond sometimes | 1. Replace batteries. 2. Ensure use within 6 meters. 3. Confirm Bluetooth remote control pairing in settings. |
The machine does not boot into the system | Please contact the seller directly. |
Play video without sound | 1. Confirm sound is not set to silent mode. 2. If the playback source is a special format, contact the seller for verification. |
OTA cannot be upgraded | 1. Ensure the machine is connected to the network. 2. OTA upgrades are only available if the system is not the latest version. |
Third party APK is not supported | 1. This system supports Google ATV, not mobile APKs. Download from Google Play Store. 2. For essential third-party APKs, contact the seller for compatible versions. |

Google Duo Setup and Usage
Set up Duo on Your Android TV
- Open Duo on your Android TV.
- Select your account to sign in.
- Select 'Give access'.
- Follow on-screen instructions to complete setup.
Find & Invite Contacts
- In Duo, search for a contact or group on the left.
- Select the contact you wish to call.
- At the bottom, select 'Video call' or 'Voice call'.
- If a contact is not using Duo, invite them to download the app.
Tip: The Duo app must be open to receive calls.
