Product Overview

This section provides an overview of the night vision device, detailing its components.

Device Diagram:
  • 1. Lens with manual focus: Used for adjusting the focus of the lens.
  • 2. USB port/Micro SD card slot Cover: Protects the USB port and Micro SD card slot.
  • 3. IR Up/Zoom in/Up Button: Increases IR brightness or zooms in.
  • 4. IR Down/Zoom out/Down Button: Decreases IR brightness or zooms out.
  • 5. Shot Button: Used to take photos or start/stop video recording.
  • 6. Power Button: Turns the device on or off.
  • 7. Mode Button: Switches between photo, video, and playback modes.
  • 8. Menu Button: Accesses the settings menu.
  • 9. Display Screen: Shows the view, settings, and status information.
  • 10. Battery Cover: Provides access to the battery compartment.
  • 11. Strap Hole: For attaching a carrying strap.
  • 12. Infrared filter cap: Protects the infrared filter.

Insert or replace batteries

To insert or replace batteries, remove the battery cover on the right side of the device by sliding it down. Insert five AA (1.5V LR6) batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery compartment securely.

Insert Micro SD card

Prepare a Micro SD card (up to 32GB). Open the card slot cover and insert the Micro SD card into the slot, ensuring it is oriented correctly. Do not force the card. Formatting the Micro SD card is recommended for better battery life and shutter speed. To remove the card, gently press its edge, and it will pop out.

Basic Operation

Starting Up

Press and hold the Power Button (6) for 3 seconds to turn the device on. Press and hold the Power Button (6) again for 3 seconds to turn it off.

Changing The Modes

The night vision device features three modes: Photo Mode, Video Mode, and Playback Mode. Press the Mode Button (7) to cycle through these modes.

Mode Function
Photo Mode For taking still photos.
Video Mode For recording video.
Playback Mode For playing recorded photos/videos.

Taking Pictures

  1. Turn on the device. If it's not in Photo Mode, press the Mode Button (7) to switch to it.
  2. Zooming: Press the Up/Zoom in button (3) or Down/Zoom out button (4) to zoom in or out. The magnification level is displayed on the LCD screen.
  3. Take a Photo: View your subject on the LCD screen. Press the Shot Button (5) to capture the image.

Screen Display during Photo Mode: The screen shows the current mode (Photo), resolution (e.g., VGA), IR brightness level (1 to 7), and digital zoom level (4X), along with a zoom adjustment slider.

Recording Video

  1. Turn on the device. If it's not in Video Mode, press the Mode Button (7) to switch to it.
  2. Zooming: Press the Up/Zoom in button (3) or Down/Zoom out button (4) to zoom in or out. The magnification level is displayed on the LCD screen.
  3. Start Recording: View your subject on the LCD screen. Press the Shot Button (5) to begin recording. The recording duration will be shown on the screen.
  4. Finish Recording: Press the Shot Button (5) again to stop recording. The device will automatically stop recording if the memory card is full.

Screen Display during Video Mode: The screen shows the current mode (Video), resolution (e.g., 640), IR brightness level (1 to 7), digital zoom level (4X), recording duration (e.g., 00:00:00), and remaining time of recording.

IR LED (Night Vision Function)

For viewing in darkness, short-press the IR UP button (3) to activate the IR LED. The image will turn black and white. The IR LED has seven brightness levels. Short-press the IR UP button (3) to increase brightness and the IR DOWN button (4) to decrease it.

Note: If the battery voltage is low, the IR LED level will automatically decrease. With full battery power, the IR LED can reach level 7. With half power, it can reach level 5. With 25% power, it can reach level 3. If the battery power is below 25%, the IR LED cannot be activated.

Focusing: The lens has "Far" and "Near" markings. Rotate the lens left for distant objects and right for closer objects to achieve optimal focus.

Video Recording: Video files do not record sound due to the long observation distance.

Settings in Photo and Video Mode

Press the Menu Button (8) in Photo or Video Mode to access and change settings.

Menu Item Function
Photo Resolution Set the photo resolution. Options: [1M 1280x960] / [VGA 640x480].
Video Size Set the video resolution. Options: [960 1280x960] / [640 640x480].
Night vision sensitivity Choose the night vision sensitivity. Options: [Low] / [Middle] / [High].
Power Frequency Set the light source frequency to match local electricity supply to prevent interference. Options: [50Hz] / [60Hz].
Power Save Set the automatic shutdown time for power saving when the device is idle. Options: [3min] / [5min] / [10min] / [OFF].
Date&Time Set the device's date and time.
Date Stamp Add a date stamp on photos or video files. Options: [Off] / [Date] / [Date&Time].
Language Set the OSD (on-screen) language. Options: [English] / [Simplified Chinese] / [Traditional Chinese] / [French] / [Nederlands] / [Espanol] / [Italiano] / [Portugues] / [Deutsch] / [Russian] / [Japanese] / [Korean].
Format Format the TF card. This will delete all files, including protected ones. Copy important files before confirming. Options: [Yes] / [No].
Reset All Restore all settings to factory defaults. Options: [Yes] / [No].
FW Version View the current firmware version information.

Playback

  1. Turn on the device and press the Mode Button (7) to switch to Playback Mode.
  2. Use the Up/Down buttons to browse through photos and video files.
  3. Playback Video:
    • Press the Shot Button (5) to start playing a video.
    • Press the Shot Button (5) again to pause playback.
    • Press the Menu Button (8) to stop the current video playback.

In Playback Mode, pressing the Menu Button (8) displays the playback menu. Use the Up/Down buttons to select "File Lock" or "File Delete", and press the Shot Button (5) to enter the respective sub-menu.

Menu Function
Lock Lock or unlock the current file or all files in memory card. Options: [Lock/Unlock single] / [Lock All] / [Unlock All].
Delete Delete the current file or all files in memory card. Options: [Delete single] / [Delete All].

Download files to PC

There are two methods to download images from the night vision device's storage card to a computer:

  1. Using a TF Card Reader: Insert the TF card into a flash card reader connected to your computer. Open [My Computer] or Windows Explorer, double-click the removable disk representing the storage card, and copy files to your desired directory.
  2. Connecting the device via USB cable: Turn on the night vision device and connect it to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The computer should display "MSDC". Open [My Computer] or Windows Explorer, double-click the "Removable Disk" icon, and copy files from the "DCIM" folder to your computer.

Care and Maintenance

Clean the device only with a dry or slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

This device is a high-precision optical instrument. To avoid damage, please refrain from the following practices:

  • Using the device in extremely high or low temperatures.
  • Storing or using it in moist environments for extended periods.
  • Using it in rain or water.
  • Transporting or using it in environments with strong vibrations.

If the device will not be used for a long time, remove the batteries.
