7. Trouble Shooting

Troubleshooting Guide:

ProblemSolution (Unit is operating normally)
Air conditioner does not heat or cool well.Clean the filter. Check and adjust the set temperature. Ensure adequate space around the outdoor unit. Check if indoor unit intake/outlet is blocked. Check if doors/windows are open.
When heating operation starts, warm air does not blow from the indoor unit soon.Warm air does not blow until the indoor unit has sufficiently warmed up.
During heating mode, the air conditioner stops before the set room temperature is reached. When outdoor temperature is low and humidity is high, frost may form on the outdoor unit. The unit performs a defrosting operation. Normal operation should resume after approximately 10 minutes.
When the airflow direction is changed, the vanes move up and down past the set position before stopping. The vanes move to the set position after detecting the base position when airflow direction is changed.
A flowing water sound or occasional hissing sound is heard. These sounds can be heard when refrigerant is flowing or its flow is changing.
A cracking or creaking sound is heard. These sounds can be heard due to expansion and contraction of parts from temperature changes.
The room has an unpleasant odor. The indoor unit draws in air containing gases from walls, furniture, and odors from clothing, then recirculates it.
A white mist or vapor is emitted from the indoor unit.If indoor temperature and humidity are high, this may occur at the start of operation. During defrosting, cool airflow may appear as mist.
Water or vapor is emitted from the outdoor unit.During cooling, water may drip from cool pipes/joints. During heating, water may drip from the heat exchanger. During defrosting, evaporated water from the heat exchanger may emit vapor.
The operation indicator does not appear in the wired remote controller display. (*1)Turn on the power switch. The "" symbol will appear. If the unit is under central control, "" will appear, and operation cannot be started/stopped via the wired remote.
"" appears in the wired remote controller display. (*1)Wait approximately three minutes. (Operation stopped to protect the unit.)
When restarting the air conditioner soon after stopping it, it does not operate even though the ON/OFF button is pressed. Is the on timer set? Press ON/OFF to stop. Is the unit connected to a central wired remote controller? Consult the controller administrator. Does "" appear? Consult administrator. Is auto-recovery from power failure set? Press ON/OFF to stop.
Air conditioner operates without the ON/OFF button being pressed. (*1)Is the off timer set? Press ON/OFF to restart. Is the unit connected to a central wired remote controller? Consult administrator. Does "" appear? Consult administrator.

Protection devices have operated. Do not attempt self-repair. Turn off power and consult dealer, providing model name and display info.

An error code appears in the remote controller display.Protection devices have operated to protect the air conditioner. Do not attempt self-repair. Turn off power and consult dealer, providing model name and display information.
Draining water or motor rotation sound is heard. When cooling stops, the drain pump operates and stops. Wait approximately 3 minutes.
The fan speed changes in spite of not changing the setting. The unit automatically adjusts fan speed to prevent blowing cold air at heating start or to protect the fan motor if return air temperature or fan speed rises excessively.
